I would like something like this for Volume control, muteing and launching a few applications like web browser calculator email client and maybe a few other things. But i dont want to spend THAT MUCH for those features...
Seems like a prop from an old sci-fi flick made obsolete by a more futuristic present. I wonder if there's any way for Lebedev to release this in 1990 instead of 2008. Or maybe bundle it with hamsters?
This product is DOA. That 7" touchscreen add-on monitor from yesterday is so much cheaper and so much more useful. This really has no purpose that I can see, much less $650 worth of purpose.
Seems to me that some enterprising developer could write an iPhone app that would do everything this keypad could do and, frankly, do it not only cheaper but with a far, far better and more versatile touchscreen display. And be wireless to boot.
@Joseph: The day I purchase a 10-key for $648.01 is the day I give everyone here on Giz a Telsa Roadster for their birthday.
But seriously, if you were a traveling auditor bean-counting the whole day and punching in numbers like there's no tomorrow, would you use a 10-key iPhone app over a an actual 10-key USB you can get for $10 bucks on Newegg?
The reason we're bailing out the banks is so that all the tellers can have $650.00 keypads. And when the Optimus Keyboard finally comes out we'll be bailing them out again, for a whole lot more.

Lauging at myself. Hadn't yet seen this Gizmodo story from only a few hours ago. Oops.
Yeah, this Lebedev thing is absolutely dead in the water. And not even Jason Voorhees dead, but full-on Natalie Wood dead.
