Just collect some cervical mucous (easier said than done I tell ya!) and spread it on a glass microscope slide... if, when it dries, it creates a "fern-shaped" pattern, your lady is fertile. And my text would read:

@Curves: Honest question here.....why? I'm just 25, but I've heard of older couples "trying" to conceive so often and I just don't get it.....Why is it so hard? I mean, the mans ejaculate still contains millions upon millions of sperm, does it not? And the female still has one primary oocyte per month undergoing meiosis I and then being kicked out of the ovaries, does she not? Why is this "so hard". Someone please explain.

@TheSonOfKrypton: Unless you deal with fertility issues, there is no explaining it. Its super hard on an emotional and physical level. I hope you never deal with it, its very , very tough. Sorry I cant explain it better.

@Xenocide: Yeah, I ended up doing it the old fashioned way, getting SMASHED at a party Thanksgiving weekend (several years ago, of course) then thinking I had the flu all that December. I am pleased to say it wasnt the flu at all.

@Curves: Can we please refrain from using the terms hard or super hard.

But I get what you mean. My brother had a difficult time. My wife and I, on the other hand, tried once and bingo. I would have liked to keep trying for a couple more months though.

@misterwho: lol, sorry. I was speaking from a womans point of view as well, but after 3 or 4 years of "trying", it takes the hot nasty fun out of sex and makes it work and all about scheduling. Foreplay was taking my temp, etc. You get the pic. Happy ending here though, and deep sorrow for those who are not as fortunate.
