So what does that mean, other than Samsung is milking their sponsorship for all it's worth? Buyers get the bonus of Olympic Games ringtones, wallpapers, and maybe even video clips. But more importantly, the P310's brushed metal exterior has gotten an 18k gold upgrade. So even if you could never throw a javelin or speedwalk, the gold can be yours—just not in the form that anyone other than thieves will actually care about. We'll get you the ludicrous pricing information as it's released.

<![CDATA[Samsung Mobile Summit: Card Phone II in the Flesh]]> While most of the phones Samsung showcased this afternoon in New York are phones we had seen before, we got to spend some hands on time with their Card Phone II, aka the P310. Named for its business card-like features, the GSM-based phone comes with its own carrying case and despite its size features a nice 2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth, and support for EDGE. What I especially liked is...

IMG_0250.jpg that the carrying case has a built-in back up battery, so you can easily replace the primary battery when it dies. No word on pricing, though they did tell us it would be coming to the States next year.

<![CDATA[Samsung P310 Calculator-Styled Cellphone]]> This Samsung P310 may be tiny, and it may have a brushed metal back, but to us it just looks too much like a calculator to be fashionable or cool. But for those who disagree, it's got a 220x176 color display, Bluetooth 2.0, a microSD card slot, MP3/WMA/AAC playback, 2 megapixel camera, and 30FPS video capture—both with auto focus. The screen is OLED, which makes the display supposedly a lot sharper than other phones made by Sony, Nokia or Motorola.

No price info, but its predecessor, the P300, launched at $400. The P310 should be available in October.
