Here are things that need to be fixed that I've observed myself:
1) New media player. Current one should be shot.
2) Support for more than 3 home screens.
3) Full Exchange support. Current Exchange support falters in environments that require passwords and remote wipe.
4) Full 802.1X support with PEAP (Universities often use this - username + passwords instead of just passwords).
5) There's a delay when trying to access the notification panel.
6) 256MB storage limit on executables for apps stored on the phone. Apps should be allowed to be on the SD card.
7) UI refresh.
8) At least on the Droid, autocorrect doesn't pop up when using the hardware keyboard.
9) Podcast support from RSS feeds
10) Audiobook support
And in just the Market app alone:
1) More screenshots. 2 isn't enough.
2) Changelogs should be required in the description when updating.
3) Categories for "games" needs to be expanded.
However, if these 13 points were all fixed, I think Android would definitely rock the house. #xkcd

Oh, and I know that Google Listen has RSS support, but it seems to only want to see the most recent podcast for a feed, not all of them! #xkcd

keyboards on phones are old hat. for years my most hated thing about mobile phones were the cheap horrible keyboards where the keys fell off after six months #xkcd

People wine and complain about "crass commercialism" but then go out and engage right in it.
The truth is that the level of consumerism a human being engages in is totally up to him. He can choose to waste his money on that sort of stuff, or he can choose to invest it and instead go out and take a nice walk in the woods.
And really what is SO bad about crass commercialism anyway? People seem to be of the opinion that if there were not mass commercialism they would be living some sort of idyllic life?
News flash people, if you did not have the spirit to make new things then you would likely be dead, because the only reason that most human beings are alive on this planet is because of all this technology that we have today. The only reason that commercialism is "crass" is because by-in-large human beings are crass. Think about it, businesses only sell what you are willing to buy, if the crap you buy is crass well guess what? Businesses are gonna keep selling you that. End. Rant. #xkcd

I suppose that should teach us that sometimes, senseless arguments aren't worth our time. That you can't engage someone you don't think is worth your argument and ignore them at the same time. Perhaps the best way to deal with something you find either ignorant, obnoxious, or obvious flamebait is to ignore it, because really, engaging in endless debates and back-and-forths over which handset is better....surely it's even more vain than the lust after the gadget itself, is it not? Can I not at least let the fleeting happiness I get from using my gadget be enough? Do I need to spend valuable, precious, time and energy trying (usually in vain) to convince others to do so as well? Is there nothing better to do with my time?
Except...they're wrong!! On the internet!! #xkcd
