It is also clear upon handling it why they chose to make the bottom edge the way they did, and why it's a problem. Think of the unit as a rounded rectangular box, and then imagine slicing it in half lengthwise -- the resulting edge is sharp. It maintains the clean line around the edge when the keyboard is closed; if they rounded the bottom edge, it would create a groove all the way around the bottom of the phone. However, while that might not have been quite as aesthetically pleasing, it would feel much better when the keyboard is open, and it would also give you a groove to dig your finger into, making it easier to push the slider open. The slider is actually not the easiest thing to push open, as there isn't a groove or edge to give you much leverage. At any rate, that edge along the bottom isn't a flaw or mistake, it was a design decision, however questionable. Cheese-cutting jokes aside, it's not that bad, but you could get a bit of a scratch from it if you weren't careful. I wouldn't be ashamed to take an emery board to it. =)
I'm going to hold out until at least Monday to see what Apple announces... and by that time, I'm guessing the initial run of the Pre will be gone, so I'm sure it will be late July before I make a decision anyway.

Good sign for Palm.
It's like a good opening weekend for a movie. Hope they can keep up the momentum.

By the way, I've never owned an Apple product and I am a Palm fan (I've owned 4 Palm devices) but I think these are worth mentioning. Sorry if these come out double spaced, I wrote a similar comment yesterday that did.

1) The closed world of Apps. That's 75% of the fun of the iPhone for me.
2) The double spacing of comments. There is nothing to be done. I'm not sure why the changed it, but I sure wish someone would fix it.
