"For things like this, being able to access Safari's URL bar would be nice, since natively, you can only export your current URL via Mail."

Um, that sounds like a two line javascript fix.

$5 is a bit too much. I'll have too look at how poor this implementation is. It doesn't seem particularly novel. Certainly useful at times, but this is something that can easily be cobbled together by someone with a little bit of know-how in mere minutes.

@Sons of Norway: You can email photos from within the Photos function. The box-with-arrow icon at the bottom brings up a menu to email the photo.

Does the iPhone have MMS? No. But I can send photos easily through email.

@Mona: And if Apple doesn't, what will you do?

You signed a 2 year contract.

@TheSonOfKrypton: That's just throwing good money after bad. Right now, I'm waiting for a rate-hike.

At some point, every telecom raises rates, creating a materially adverse change to the contract, offering the user an opportunity to opt out. For example, T-Mobile hiked messaging rates 1 week before the iPhone 3G was released. Didn't pay an ETF to get out of my contract.

    ETFs are for suckers.

I don't understand. What is the technical roadblock for having copy/paste?

@jdbaile3: But how easy would it be to simply create an "Access" panel in the settings where you could apply the copy/paste abilities to 3rd party applications. By default it would be turned off, if you thought you'd use it, you could turn it on.

    VOILA, PROBLEM SOLVED.

    Goddammit, Apple. God dammit.

Half of you babies wouldn't even use cut and paste if it was available, and if it was such a life or death feature then you shouldn't have an iPhone to begin with. For those people the iPhone was made for (they didn't have exchange support at the beginning for a reason) the iPhone is a huge upgrade even without "basic" features many other "smart" phones and blackberries have. If it was such, then again, you shouldn't have "downgraded" to the iPhone nor should you expect anything from any company just because youre used to it. Apples products aren't for everyone and they don't want to, or plan to, appease everyones needs because their products aren't for everyone.

If you absolutely need copy and paste, then the solution is simple: get a different phone. If you bought one with the assumption that it would, then you are a fool and have no one to blame but yourself and not a company that you think should cater to your every desire.

Also, if it took a few people to create a somewhat halfassed workaround for this procedure then maybe maybe it's not as easy of a feature to add. I wouldn't be surprised if there is a way to do it but not do it well enough that apple has adopted it's typical "all or nothing" approach.

This reminds me of my days on WebTV where small things that computer users take for granted are such big deals. Some were also solved by web services (ie, ftp & source viewing).

You know what's really pissing me off right now. AT&T's viewmymessage.com is producing an error right now. I haven't been able to login in over 3 hours and I have a picture waiting for me from a female.

So that explains the unusually warm December day we had yesterday. Only something this massive could have affected the environment like that...
