    They're gunna need the extra cash from that high price to cover all the injury lawsuits.

    This is just a USB hub wired with an iPhone adaptor. It doesn't even have a power adaptor by the looks of it. Epic fail.

    @Odin: for 15 bucks, I don't want another power adapter to lug around, this looks fine for the money to me.

    @MacPro66:
    Until you read the line of description that reads you can't sync your iPod and have any other devices connected through the cable at the same time. Plus the fact that the vast majority of USB devices require powered sockets means unpowered or underpowered sockets just don't cut it.

    For 15 bucks this is actually worse than unplugging the iPhone and plugging in another device.

    In reply to What's Wrong With a USB 3.0 ExpressCard?
    I'd just like to point out that my Lenovo T400, bought last December, has ExpressCard slots.

    What, do you guys think everybody uses MacBook Airs or something?

    The key selling point is the huge black block at the end making this a martial arts geek weapon of choice for taking down USB2 users in your home town technology ghetto.

    I agree that without any must-have devices to plug into it, this is nothing more than a propeller-head coffee table discussion.

    Right, because my early-2009 unibody MBP means I am not an early-adopter type. Seriously?

    some googling reveals that an expresscard bus simply doesn't have the power to provide 5v @ 900mA.

    A dongle that connects to two of the laptop's USB 2.0 ports for power would fix portability. *grins proudly*

    @spannu: I used to have a rule that nothing was allowed to connect to my LAN at home unless it was blue.

    In reply to Sony Selling World's Tiniest USB Finger Vein Reader
    How much more accurate is this vein scanner from a standard fingerprint scanner, such as what Lenovo puts on their Thinkpad devices? The latter we have found to be problematic and relatively easy to crack, but if this is a major improvement - that would be a fantastic step forward. Ideally, it would be nice to have something like this plugged into all of our desktops in the office and staff could authenticate with nothing more than giving us the finger. Insulting, sure - but much more entertaining than remembering a 14 character password.
