Once a company dominates a certain product market, they stops creating innovative and exciting product in that category because they know nobody can compete with them.

@semperfi1776: Well technically they innovate less because it's cheaper and as such they make more. I would hope that the big 3 were a good enough example as of late (in truck/suv anyways)...

I might seriously stop reading gizmodo. I mean their Apple fanboy-ism is going way to overboard. I have a MBP and an iPhone, I love Apple stuff, but to see you guys posting retarded articles like these is just plain stupid.

You guys have truly reached a new low.

@Twenty5: Apple makes gadgets. They are innovators. They are extremely relevant to this site.

I'm sorry if the other tech companies can't churn out any "newsworthy" gadgets!

This is the kinda stuff that's lead to Sony's and Canon's extremely lame PR blow-hardness.

@OMG! Ponies!: Yup, and we sit here and wonder why people like Jesus praise Apple so much. It's amazing what sitting through such a biased conference (I'm not saying it shouldn't be) can do to you. And on top of that, add the crowd stupidity factor, and pretty soon, you have the recipe for creating fanboys. The sad thing is, our society has created situations like these in every circle of life, and starting at a young age (coke vs. pepsi, nike vs. adidas, mcdonalds vs. bk) and the large corporations love it because if they win you at a young age, they win you for life.

When we start dealing with things like cars, computers, houses and other big ticket items, we then start to feel like we really need to justify our purchases. So what started out as a researched purchase, can easily turn you into a fanboy. So if someone makes fun of your product, even on the internet where you don't even know the person or see them in real life, you start blindly defending things in order to convince both the person and yourseld that you made a good purchase. When in reality, all man made products have some form of fault. And considering the fact that we have no stake in the company, it's even deemed more worthless to be a fanboy, because then, the company in question gets a free walking billboard that in turn actually pays the company in order to keep advertising and convincing more people.

So again Apple says, "Fuck the Corporate User". Yea, our computers never break. Uh....until they do.

    I can't get On-Sight AppleCare Service.

I can't pull a Hard Drive out and swap it into a loaner computer.

I can't pull CD/DVD Drive out and swap it with a working one.

I can't pull out a fucking BATTERY and swap in a working one.

I can't replace a Keyboard when someone spills some of their fucking StarBucks® Latté into it.

We can do that with our Windows Laptops, and we have on-sight service as well.

So my traveling users with MacBookPro 17" laptops have to wait a week while they send the computers off to Texas, or have to make an appointment with the Mac Gurus at the Apple Store and wait around till their name gets called, while paying a fortune to park in San Francisco (usually) just to have them say they might have time to try to fix it.

    Wake the fuck up, Apple!

@RedBackFur: I understand your argument, but I just find it odd that people would buy this, considering that they'd need to do things like swap drives and batteries and optical drives on the fly. The 15" allows for the battery and drive swap, but Macbooks, and even the iBooks and Powerbooks have not allowed swapping of the optical drive for as far back as I can remember.

Really at this point, even if you think it's stupid, if you really need things like on-site service and lots of hot-swappable parts, you should just consider getting something else.
