The bowl looks a bit like a sakazuki (sake dish) so I was just thinking... load it with sake, and when your stress levels get too high, it tells you to take a sip before going back to work!
Why the bowl? Couldn't the bracelet itself tell me? If I'm that stressed out about something I'm not going to be paying attention to a bowl. And what would really stress me out is having to carry a bowl around.
Kind of cool, but is there any evidence traders make worse decisions when they are stressed? I can think of other jobs where stress might be a concern. For example, air traffic controllers. If it turns red maybe someone should step in to assist.
Is the bowl turning bright red likely to just make them more stressed than they were already? Red tends to be threatening, that might be the wrong signal.
How much money would they potentially lose by stepping away from the computer? I don't know that you actually have the luxury to step away at the points where things are happening the fastest.
@jdale: Yah, there's evidence of it. Little bit of stress: good. Too much stress: brain no think rationally. And that's not a good thing when you're playing the stock market. Stepping away from the computer for a couple minutes will net out better results than getting the day-trading equivalent of road rage.

Boss: Okay but I don't think your fancy little bowl will be too happy when you are standing in the unemployment line.
