OMG good news - NASA is holding a naming contest, check this out: "Our lander (RIP) had the best name. The next rover to Mars, @MarsScienceLab, needs a name. A contest for kids: [is.gd]"
ohhhh man. how awesome is space? i mean, seriously. There is a sat orbiting the earth that relays to another sat orbiting mars, that relays a message to a robot on the surface. so cool.
Gotta give NASA credit for their probes/rovers. Every one of them (not gonna count the one that crashed due to the nasty metric/imperial mix up) has outperformed expectations.
Stuff like this gives me hope that one day we'll be able to put a human footprint on Mars and beyond.
Ground control to Phoenix [or Major Tom, you get the idea] your circuit's dead there's something wrong. Can you hear me Phoenix [or Major Tom, you get the idea]?
The next time I use some dry ice, I'll chip some pieces off for you, my friend. I think we should all do this, so we can remember our robo-homies who are trapped under meters of CO2 snow.

Hey, even the one that crashed outperformed expectations. Like for how quickly it would land.
