I don't even think that 12 year-olds of the world rejoice at this one. Home sucks. It's that simple. The fact that Sony can't realize that, and keeps wasting resources on it, is painful.

Sony opened one of their boutique Sony Stores two blocks from my office two months ago. I haven't even found the desire to walk down there and check it out. That's sad for a gadget geek like me.

I actually use it a air amount. I dabbled before, but really enjoyed the behind the scenes interviews they were playing during E3. Since then, they opened up the theater a couple weeks ago from 1 theater to 10 theaters. It doesnt change consitently, but each week you can expect at least a couple of the theaters to show something new. And while I thought I'd never mess with 'virtual goods' at all, when they give a way free shirts/items, I cant help but have fun with it. I dont really talk to other people there like a chat, but I see some people getting into it. But I just like to wander around spaces really even if it's just to look aorund. I dig the virtual world, I guess.

Did I hear Val Kilmer? What a talent-lacking freak. I'd probably have more respect for him if he didn't leave a message on one of my best friends' girlfriend's phone, drunk as a skunk, asking her to go to Martha's Vineyard with him for a week. Picture hooded sweatshirt and sunglasses hanging out at a small-town New Hampshire ice cream stand. At 11:00 PM. Wasted. Oh Val. Val Val Val Val Val. You are the workbench of tools.

Val Kilmer? George Clooney? Clearly, in citing the world's worst Batman actors, you have somehow glossed over the horror of horrors that is the Governator's role as Mr. Freeze.
Sure Arnold didn't actually play Batman, but his level of suck was astounding, even awe inspiring at times, and is frankly unmatched in the entire Batman meme.

In reply to The Average PS Home Session Lasts One Hour (ORLY)
Home has its issues, no doubt, but I love it.

I've been logging into Home for several months now, since before the open beta. I have seen it go through many changes--not all good, some downright terrible--but it has become more stable and, in tiny increments, is expanding its repertoire of services.

I launch Home 5-10 times per week for sessions that last anywhere from 30 minutes to 2, even 3, hours. And here's the kicker: Exclusively from Home, I have met and talked to many, many people, most just acquaintances, but some of whom I would now call friends (indeed, not unlike some of my Gizmodo friendships).

Are these people I'm ever likely to meet in person? For the most part, probably not. But that is the beauty of Home, its ability to foster a social experience in a global virtual world. I know Gizmodo is all down on Home. However, you get out of it only what you put into it. Anyone who naysays Home (are you listening, Giz?) just doesn't know how to "play" it. Yeah, consider that a challenge.
