Yeah, but can it run Crysis? Oh, I guess it can't, nevermind here.

Maybe Im thick, but I have no idea what a person could do with this. I run linux at my house, but I cant imagine what you could use this for. Can anyone lay out a useful scenario? Bittorrent? Fileserver?

@nutbastard: I actually have a perfect use for it...for my parents.

A linux system so that I can remotely access their network, so when my dad calls me to fix something on his computer I have an easy way in. Beats the current alternative of me trying to tell him where to click, and going through the screens via memory.

As long as it has rdesktop (or I can put it on), it's golden!

I know its meant to be a server, but a monitor port would be nice to. As others said more storage could be added via USB

@Todd MacDonald: The monitor port is completely unnecessary and would also necessitate the need for display driver and other hardware, which would make it bigger than it needs to be. Just use virtual desktop apps or remote server management.

This is just the thing for me - space is at a premium but I'd really like a Linux server to play with.

USB ports are easy enough to expand using a hub. But 500 MB of flash doesn't sound like much. Does the USB port mean you could hook up drives to it? That's the deal breaker for me.

@stryder100: Just use network storage. Cheap, and easily upgradable, swappable or portable without having to dismantle or shut down your server. Hence why the server shouldn't have all the storage inside it. You could even go wireless with some brands.

    Needs more USB ports

Also, while this looks interesting for public access computing, you can bet that someone will go around pocketing them

@IphtashuFitz: No, a hub won't do, I think that this needs AT LEAST 2 USB ports, since there is not VGA or DVI port or anything of the sort. You can get USB driven displays, but they are going to need a controller's full capable speed. A hub just splits up the the possible throughput, so attaching other devices, such as mice and keyboards may actually have a negative impact on the display

@im.thatoneguy: Yeah, because the TI-83 totally doesn't sport a 6 MHz Zilog (Z80) processor (even the 84 Plus Silver only has a 15MHz and 2 MB RAM). I like the joke, so kudos, but pick something more along the lines of the TI-Nspire.
