Both suck. I found one of the bubble-pop keychains at Meijer, and since some unscrupulous kid had ripped the package open I figure I might as well give it a try. It's just clicky-buttons underneath a silicone bubble. It has tactile feel, but it's more like licking a ballpoint pen. And the sound is way off.
Then I watched Joe Meno demonstrating his bubble-pop app on his iPhone, and while it sounded right, you don't get the tactile feel of the bubbles.
Both serve to reinforce that old adage about putting pigs in dresses or whatever it was.
In the show Red Dwarf, a character makes billions selling red painted bubble wrap with the words "tension sheet" printed on the side. Maybe this is somebody's attempt to do the same?
I've had one of these for the last couple of weeks! One of the guys I work with moved over here from Japan earlier this summer, but had to go back for a few weeks. He brought 4 different colors back with him, one for each member of our team.
I do wish the speaker were louder. The click of the buttons is louder than the speaker click. I'd also like buttons that were more bubble-like. These are flat on the top, but become concave when you press them.
They also need to have some kind of anti-theft device. Other people in our company keep wandering off with them.
If you order lots of crap from ebay and online retailers for computer parts, and of course, steal some of the packaging at work, you can just wrap yourself in the real thing and have an endless, endless supply.
Not that I'd do such a thing of course. Don't judge me!
