In spite of the fact that those kids were probably paid good money to do the ads for this thing, someone should slap them for not taking one look at the product and then stalking off the set in laughter.
My radio, believe me, I like it loud.
I'm the man with a box that can rock the crowd.
Walkin' down the street, to the hardcore beat.
While my Rad Blaster vibrates the concrete.
Yet another "lock down" from Apple. One of the biggest reasons I switched to the Droid from the iPhone; tired of not being able to do anything to my device without fear of voiding the warranty.
@RainyDayInterns: Linux machines are even more open than PCs, and have no financial cost other than the hardware. The price you pay is the patience to become knowledgeable enough to get certain services and devices working.
@RainyDayInterns: Good point, and this is nothing new... Most cell phone batteries have a moisture dot now so the carrier can tell if the phones gotten wet.

Folks...crack and hack away! That is the best part about owning stuff! All Apple is saying is "you opened it, YOU fix it."
Noted and we are OK with that.

Lot's of folks are happy with systems that are more open.. PCs are clearly more "open". Of course, there are "costs" to both approaches.

Not everyone wants or needs to know how things work. Some just want it to work so they can use it.

"Yes, and now we can't work on it because of the smoke."

I've been doing this for gift-wrapping purposes since I was a child. I'm claiming prior art.
