This is just the prototype. The final version will look like an anime character that repairs power lines with samurai swords and odd creatures. #powerlines
Assuming the Phillippines follows usual pole hanging conventions, they are waling on heavy cable tv cables, not power lines.
See the tall Power lines in the rear way, way up high.
BTW, the order is power lines on top, telephone lines minimum 6 foot lower and cable tv under that.
Look at the poles as you drive to Starbuck's today.
Are those live wires?
I mean, the ones they are standing on looks like a bunch of ropes rather than power lines, which seems to be running far higher...
If they are pretty sure there is no power going through there, why not? If this is the case, I think it is stupid NOT to do this if they were doing this to save peoples lives. Sometimes risks have to be taken for the good of others.
I was born in the Philippines. And if I was there and could save someones life by climbing across dead power lines, then that is what I will be doing. Although I would never have guessed idiots on the Internet would be calling me stupid for doing so.
@Christopher Cox: Really? You would never have guessed that idiots on the internet would be calling you stupid for something? I'm pretty sure that's the only thing the internet is for nowadays.
@Dylan Goings: I agree with Stupid #1. Once people realize that the power is out to everyone, and they get the drunk guy to go out there first, then it's fine. Although it's been pointed out several times that those are telecommunication wires.
And I agree with Stupid #2. The Internet is for calling people stupid.
I keep looking at that and thinking, "They're going to snap the fiber pairs, and it's going to take forever to get the internets back! What about the porn man!

I can't wait until Optimum Online sends mechanical spiders to fix our cable boxes and repair lines outside the buildings.

Still incredible how high the water level is.
