LG Making iPhone Competitor, Android Phone and Prada III
It would be amazing if LG could make an iPhone competitor, an Android device and a Prada III that's one single device, but somehow I don't think that's what LG's president means. More » -

Prada II Phone Comes With a Swanky Little Bluetooth Watch
Apparently it was optimistic to expect Prada to understand the difference between a fashion accessory and a phone accessory, because now look what's happened: Prada and LG have announced the Prada Link, a Bluetooth watch that pulls text messages and your call information from the Prada II phone. To be honest though, it doesn't look so bad. The stylish Link has a tiny little OLED screen that displays the content of text messages, call history data, a call rejection option and, of course, the time. The only downsides are the 48-hour battery life, which leaves you latching your watch to the phone for charging every couple days, and the lack of a US release date. It's not yet clear if the watch will come with the phone for free, but considering that similar watches have retailed for around $400, I'd guess not. [Prada via Akihabara] -

LG Prada II Officially Decent, Expensive and Faaaabulous
LG and Prada have just sent out a pre-announcement for the upcoming Prada II, sequel to the companies' first touchscreen lovechild that was released well over a year ago. Stand-out features include a 5MP camera, FM radio, 7.2Mbps HSDPA 850/2100 (hey, North American importers) and Wi-Fi. The rest of the tech specifications pretty much match the leaked list, but offer little to distinguish the phone from the growing crowd of pop-out QWERTY touchscreen phones. More » -

LG Prada II Full Specs Leak Online
The last we heard of the upgrade to LG's Prada phone, the Prada II, was a grainy photo and some speculative specifications. Now over at Boy Genius Report they've been given a run-down on the full specs of the phone from a source they trust. The rumored 5-megapixel camera is indeed there, with flash and VGA video capability. 850MHz/2100MHz HSDPA's there too, as is the 3-inch screen. Read on for more. More » -

Samsung D980 Dual-SIM Touchscreen Phone Hits Intertubes
Samsung has kept developing its LG Prada knock-off F480 full-touchscreen phone and turned it into the D980. This is a dual-SIM version of the phone, hitting China first in a D988 version and then apparently the rest of the world as the D980 DuoS. It's a tri-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE device, with 2.6-inch QVGA screen and 5-megapixel auto-focus cam with a flash. There's no pricing or timing info yet, but since Blam had some bad things to say about the F480 cellphone back in February, let's hope they've improved the touchscreen too. [Unwiredview] -

LG Prada II Cellphone Details Leaked
According to a leaked specifications list, LG has a Prada II handset in the works, and it sounds like it will be packing quite a punch. The details that have been leaked suggest the cellphone will have a 3-inch (400x240) WQVGA touchscreen, 5MP camera, front mounted camera for video calling, Wi-Fi connectivity, 7.2 Mbps HSDPA, USB 2.0, Full HTML browser, FM radio, TV-out, microSDHC support and—we just can't believe it until we see it— a full, slide-out QWERTY keyboard. AT&T LG Vu Specs, Images Leaked
The chaps at Phone Arena have managed to gain some leaked press shots of AT&T's LG Vu, and it is looking tastier than before. The Vu will come in two primary versions; the CU915 will lack a mobile TV antenna, whilst the CU920 will be supplied with mobile TV antenna, which will support AT&T's new, streaming TV service. Checkout the gallery for some more great shots, then jump for the specs. -

LG VX9700 Touchphone For Verizon Is Like the Prada or AT&T Vu
Verizon's getting its own version of the AT&T Vu, a touchscreen LG Prada phone without the Prada branding. Phone Arena says the specs on this look something like a 3.2-megapixel camera with a Schneider Kreuznach lens, microUSB port, microSDHC slot, touchscreen, and a full QWERTY keyboard. It's also supposed to be headed for release at the end of March, but could be delayed until April or May. This phone is apparently so secret that Phone Arena needs not one, but two watermarks on the picture. [Phone Arena] -

LG Prada Phone Now Comes in Silver with New, Matching UI
It's hard to believe that, just a year ago, the name of the phone on everyone's lips was LG's collaboration with Prada, the sexy touchscreen number that let its users believe that their fingers were fashion (or something). And now, post iPhone, what of the Prada phone? Well, a silver version is now available in Europe, complete with new UI (also silver, apparently) and matching silver accessories. It's available in most of Europe, but don't expect to see it Stateside anytime soon. A couple more pics after the jump. More » -

AT&T to Launch Mobile TV Service, LG Vu Will Be First Phone to Support
RCR Wireless News claims AT&T will launch their own mobile TV service as early as February 5, and the 3G, touchscreen LG Vu (better known as the LG Prada) will be the first phone to support the service. The service will use the same Qualcomm MediaFLO backbone as the Verizon V Cast TV video service, which currently offers eight live broadcast channels. However, the AT&T service will have two exclusive channels (Verizon currently has no exclusives). The Vu is expected to sell for $200. [RCR Wireless via Crave] -

AT&T LG Prada Spy Shots
This isn't the KE850 LG Prada that we played with before, but a new LG CU920 Prada version that's heading to AT&T—which means there will be two touchphones battling it out on one network. Our source tells us that it's very light, but comes with an antenna (!) that's easy to snap off. It's supposedly 3G, but took a long while to load up Gizmodo (probably because of our huge images). It's got zooming like the iPhone when browsing, but takes a couple steps instead of the iPhone's one. Check out the non-fuzzy pics in our gallery after the jump.

Settling this iPhone vs. LG Prada Nonsense
We're a month or so from iPhone, and phone nuts talk about the LG Prada as being one of its main competitors. Another one of those "iPhone-Killers" every phone company is pushing. But I just got an LG Prada, and based on my hands on time with that and my session with the iPhone back at Macworld (not the papercraft in the photo), I can say it's a great phone, but it's also no contest.

LG KS20: Pradaless, Prada Update?
This is the KS20, a rumored update to the LG KE850, or Prada phone, as known by many. It will have the Prada brand name dropped. It is pretty similar to the KE850, but with a little more beef. It is said to run off Windows Mobile 6 Pro and includes 128MB of memory, a 2.8-inch touchscreen, GRPS/EDGE/UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA support, 2.0-megapixel camera, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, TV-out, FM radio and microSD support. Not bad, and maybe because it lacks the Prada brand name the price tag will be a bit better. Check out all of our other Prada-related coverage here. More » -

LG Prada Review: A Trendy Phone for Designer Whores
The girls at ShinyShiny got some one-on-one time with the much-hyped LG Prada phone and after spending 24 hours with a preproduction model had some mixed, but mostly good things to say. So the good news first. The touch-screen has no lag whatsoever. Even better, fat-fingered technofiles don't have to worry about accidentally hitting the wrong "button" since the phone's icons are spaced far apart. The bad news is that the touch-screen requires some getting used to. For texting, it requires concentrating, otherwise you'll end up with a ton of misspellings. There were also times when you had to "press" buttons more than once to get them to function. Final verdict:"This is a phone. And it's really nothing more than a phone. It's for those that are all about appearances. And there's nothing wrong with that."

LG Already Updates Shine: Looks The Same, But Adds HSDPA and VGA Camera
LG is already hard at work making the next version of the , the KU970. While the exterior will remain as Shiney as ever, LG adds 3G HSDPA and a VGA camera. LG has also bumped the internal storage capacity to 512MB. Other than that, it's the same Shine that we still don't have here. Microsoft and LG agreed to a deal that will put Windows Mobile 6, aka Crossbow, onto future LG smartphones. Could this include the upcoming LG Prada phone? LG Prada Phone UI Walkthrough
Ever since it was first announced, we've been kinda curious about LG's iPhone competitor, especially after sizing it up to the competition and seeing those pics of the user interface. Well, now you can take a full look at the UI thanks to the folks at Cellulare IT magazine who got some one-on-one time with LG's baby. I gotta admit, the UI looks pretty snazzy and easy to use, though I wish it were a tad bit faster. The phone is coming out this spring in Europe for about $500. LG's Prada Phone Soon Out, Could Be Your iPhone Placeholder Til June
Maybe this is their way of sticking it to Apple, but LG today officially announced its new Prada phone, also know as the KE850. Aside from the fact that it's black and has a touchscreen, the similarities with the iPhone are minimal...not really. The LG has a 3-inch 400 x 240 screen to the iPhone's 3.5-inch 480 x 320 screen. Unlike the iPhone, LG's phone lacks built-in storage, instead you'll have to rely on microSD cards. There's also no word of its wifi capabilities, if it has any. Still, it looks nicer than many of the other fashion phones we've seen before and the interface, though perhaps slow, ain't bad either. Where it does have the advantage is availability. It's due out next month in Europe, whereas the iPhone still has a ways to go. More »
