Winter does all kinds of weird things to the sky, including make it look like we live on an exotic alien planet circling Vega. NASA just posted this mind-bending 360º view of light pillars in Finland. The agency describes the spectacle:
Saturn put on an incredible once-in-a-blue-moon show for the Hubble Space Telescope — Hubble was able to view the planet when its rings were edge-on, so that the planet's twin aurorae, its northern and southern lights, were visible.
Some designer has figured out how to make a lighting filament out of different-colored materials and sculpt them into the shape of a flower. Attaching the bulb to a flexible support that plugs directly into the wall, the result is PlugLight, a charming decorative light that ends up being a pleasant little decoration.
