And that they sunbathed on Jabba barge's deck, half-naked and oily under the torrid light of Tatooine's twin suns? Neither did I. [Update: ANTHR CLEERER PICTRR AFTRR JMP]

Here you can see Carrie Fisher in her metal bikini alonside Tracy Eddon, her stunt double in Return of the Jedi. Both are suntanning between takes on the deck of Jabba's Sail Barge, on location in Tunisia's desert Yuma, Arizona. Yes, Han, this shot is one in a million. [fukung via @Kottke]

<![CDATA[Han Solo In Carbonite USB Drive Was Too Good To Last]]> This USB drive featuring Han Solo frozen in carbonite was so cool (cute? weird?) that it sold out in five days, apparently before we could even write about it. I am a fan of the cartoony style crafted by jasonscreations, likely without the permission of Big George. All I can say is, I hope Jason makes more of 'em. Meanwhile, the action figure of Solo's woman in bounty hunter guise is not part of the deal, but since you can't buy any of it, the point is moot. Jump for a closeup of the drive. [Etsy - Thanks Brandon!] Update: OK, so they're apparently pieces from a Hasbro set. Still cute as hell and a USB drive I, for once, wouldn't lose. Somebody make more!

<![CDATA[Breakthrough in Holographic Tech Makes 3D Sets 5 to 10 Years Away]]> Holographic television sets may be only a few years off thanks to a new breakthrough in 3D technology. Researchers at the University of Arizona said they had made the first updatable 3D displays with memory, a prerequisite for getting any holographic image to move. With the new technology, displays can now be erased and rewritten in a matter of minutes.

Though that's still far slower than the refresh rate of normal 2D television sets, the researchers said that speeding the frame rate up would be a piece of cake compared to the first breakthrough. They were so confident, they even gave a time peg—five to ten years before the technology would reach the market. That's right, folks! Five to ten years before every wannabe-Luke Skywalker in the world will get to endlessly loop that integral Star Wars scene.
