Then when he received an email, he sent this nasty little note. Regardless of the response, he's got no excuse.

He probably kept it brief so he could get to the gym in 26 minutes....

She's in PR - she should be able to put some spin on it.

up hill in the rain"
I'll just go ahead and add that line to my personal arsenal of verbal defense

I call for a full Gizmodo Inquiry!

send it over to Owen at Valleywag, he'll publish the name of the company. I need to know!

This is my exchange, so I can tell you. My email to her was:
"Please remove me from your list. My publication does not cover these types of products.
I did NOT sign up to receive info in this category, nor anything close. By CES guidelines, I should not have received this, making it dangerously close to spam. That reflects poorly on your company.
Thank you."

Post it. She needs a lesson.

Which, if that were the case, totally deserves this kind of reply.

I'll be the first to admit that I may have been mistaken about how CES segments their press list (or rather, doesn't.) CES press registration does imply that you are signing up to only receive emails from relevant companies. I have since been told that may not be the case.
Regardless, I don't think what I wrote deserved the response I got.

Never pick a fight with a person who buys ink by the barrel.
Pixels are cheaper than ink. Don't pick fights with the person who is going to review your client's product. You'll only burn the bridge at both ends.

And, you know, a few thousand more people could do that. Then that guy could drown himself and his sorrows in a freshly delivered barrel of ink.

Although the last line was unexpected:
" However, you do have very interesting content and we have lots of client you would like to know more about to help you in your endeavors. Call me"
Could be an automatic signature since it's below the PS.

Well, here's to Google hits for "Lois Whitman" and "HWH PR/New Media"
12/17/08
But, obviously we don't know what was sent to that company originally as it has never been referenced. On the other hand, they seem to represent brands I'd really never consider purchasing from. I'm not big on Samsung Drives to begin with.

Also, PhoneScoop appears to have gotten some special recognition from PC Magazine. If Ms. Whitman has been in the consumer electronics business for 42 years, then that should mean something to her.
