WiiSpeak Community Mic: Online Group Chatting Comes to the Wii
The second new Wii accessory out of E3, the WiiSpeak community mic and speaker finally lets you chat with other people online. Unlike an Xbox 360 headset, it's more about group chatting and is placed on top of your TV, like a conference call mic (how does it filter out game sounds?). It's bundled with Animal Crossing City Folk, which is kind of like the Sims, but more Animal Crossing-like. It'll be out later this year. -

Xbox 360's "Lips" Karaoke Game Microphone Has Motion Sensing, Vegas Lounge Lights
Could the rumored upcoming "Lips" accessory + game to the Xbox 360 have the most advanced karaoke microphone for a game yet? Quite possibly. The game's made by iNiS, a team that's no stranger to music games, and features the accessory that pulses in time with your singing, plus detects how you swing it around when crooning in order to score extra points. It seems fantastic, but no amount of peripheral distractions will distract from how really awful your singing is. I mean seriously, vocal lessons aren't that expensive. [Gamekyo via Kotaku] -

Xbox 360 Pro Hits $299 at Target
The Xbox 360 price drop has pretty much gone official, with Target offering an in-store price of $299.99. The only thing weird about this is that it's not the rumored 60GB version that we thought was coming, so it's possible that Target is just clearing out old inventory for the new SKU? We won't know anything for certain until someone from Microsoft gets up on stage and says it. Or until they put out a press release. [Target] -

On Tuesday, we'll be covering Nintendo and Sony. Don't miss it and remember to check Kotaku and their pre-E3 title coverage. -

Xbox 360 Price Cuts Arrive in Australia, US Probably Following Soon
Normally we'd skip over Australia-only news, but the official Xbox 360 price cuts there most likely means those rumors of a drop in the US are pretty much locked in for sure (even if the European price reduction a few months ago didn't cross over). Kotaku says all three models got slashed, "with the Arcade down $50 to AUD$349, the Pro down a whopping $180 to AUD$499 and the Elite down $80 to AUD$649." With the new sticker of $349, the Xbox 360 Arcade is actually cheaper than the Wii, which is $400. Toilet flushing and the seasons aren't the only things backwards down there now. Xbox 360's Rumored Avatars Might Be Their Nintendo Miis
Xbox 360 Fanboy found this Flash document on Intellisponse's servers, which is an online research and web-survey platform. It shows off a picture of a bunch of Mii-like characters called Avatars, that (according to the text above it) are supposed to be for the Xbox 360 and are used instead of the gamer picture. It's unclear whether or not this picture is a survey, but seeing as Intellisponse is a survey and the picture looks a whole lot like a survey, it's probably a part of a survey. More »
