Chicago Gizmodo Party, In Photos
Thanks again to everyone who made it out to the Hotel Sax for the Gizmodo's Chicago reader meetup. For those who didn't make it out, I think the night went pretty well, as people alternated between the line for the bar and the dual Rock Band 2 stations, the official ecosystem of the event. We never got a firm headcount, but we'd estimate the attendance to have been just south of 200 people, an eclectic mix of ages, professions and musical abilities. Click through for the full gallery. REMINDER: Gizmodo Chicago Meetup TONIGHT
To all of you who've RSVP'd for the Chicago Gizmodo Reader Meetup, remember that it's going on tonight at the Hotel Sax from 8-11pm. You can find full details on the event here, but if the prospect of free drinks, hors d'oeuvres, socializing, informal tech demos, Rock Band 2 and maybe a few small giveaways isn't enough to pull you out of your caves, then we're a little confused why you were reading our site in the first place. BoomCooler: A Portable Party in an Ice Box
Throw in a cooler, some speakers and mix with a little hillbilly inspiration and you have yourself a BoomCooler. Billed as "the ultimate portable entertainment system," the BoomCooler makes it easy to roll your tunes from one party to the next thanks to some fancy wheels and a handle. It also cranks out a decent amount of sound with two Sony Xplod 6” x 9” 240-watt max 4-way speakers, a 1100-watt max 10” subwoofer and a 4-channel 600-watt amp. It is also iPod, Sirius radio, MP3, CD and AM/FM radio ready. But, the question is, can it hold your beer? Unfortunately, no. The BoomCooler's storage space is limited to dry goods only. Pfft...if my $900 doesn't involve getting drunk it is not worth spending. [BoomCooler via Uncrate] -
