And to make matters worse, there's the ridiculously cool Heli Mission SWAT Truck.

This thing is an R/C truck that can launch a freakin' autopilot helicopter. Can you even wrap your head around that phenomenon? It'd be like if your home had some mechanical port that opened with an remote, unleashing or storing your car (or maybe even two cars!) at will.

But alas, it's made for stupid kids. And those stupid kids probably don't even have the $100 to buy the Heli Mission SWAT Truck this July because they don't have stupid jobs. [Go! Radio Control via Toyology via OhGizmo!]

<![CDATA[If Sony Makes This PSP-Controller Car, I Will Buy It]]> A Sony patent application reveals a very neat implementation of the PSP. Imagine a camera-enabled car you can drive around...through an augmented reality race course.

We assume the car is controlled over the PSP's Wi-Fi connection. The user steers by seeing what the car sees, with the PSP's display showing the car's POV webcam feed. This video feed could be recorded, making for a kind of ultimate upskirt device.

But in addition to all this fun stuff, Sony hints at racing games with "augmented reality zones." In other words, software could superimpose/replace objects in the video feed, adding a little arcade action to the toy car. Who knows if the design will ever see the light of day, but I really love the idea. [Siliconera via Joystiq]

<![CDATA[Hero Sports Cam Mounted On R/C Car Can Mean Only One Thing: Backflip]]> What would you do with a Hero Wide camera and a Traxxas VXL Slash R/C car? No, not upskirts you perverts. I'm talking backflips baby...backflips. [YouTube]

<![CDATA[IR Car Chases Beams of Light Like an Angry Cat]]> Most R/C cars are controlled by radio frequencies and a miniature steering wheel, but this car follows a dot of infrared light wherever you want it to go (similar to a cat chasing a laser). The only catches are that the car doesn't look to read throttle commands and it can only recognize light up to 5 feet away, so you can't point the beam at the top of Mount Rushmore and watch the tiny vehicle dutifully scurry its way up...yet. Running 20 minutes per charge, the complete kit goes for a reasonable $50. [RichardSolo via Dvice]

<![CDATA[Fat Shark Wireless RC Glasses Let You See Through Your Car In First Person]]> We were too poor to play with RC cars when we were kids, but it seems like it was worth the wait in order for these Fat Shark Wireless RC Glasses to be invented. Strap the glasses on your face and you'll be able to see through the actual head of the RC driver. Better yet, the head can pivot and tilt so you're not always looking straight ahead in front of the car. We only wish it would be adapted for Top Gun 2008, the end result of which would be tons and tons of "pilots" puking on the ground. Video (of the ground model) after the jump. [Hobby Media]

<![CDATA[200MPH Nitro-Powered RC Car Opens Time-Space Portal]]> So, this is what 200 miles per hour looks like on a small scale. And what this RC-controlled car sounds like is a gazillion very angry bees all chasing after Michael Caine. Powered by nitromethane, the car is attached via cable to a pole situated in the middle of a circular track. Round and round the car goes, getting faster and faster, until it reaches 200mph—and the buzz reaches such a pitch that you think the bees are after you. Awesome. [Jalopnik]

<![CDATA[Mario Theme Played with RC Car and Wine Bottles]]>
What can you get from a RC car with some wires attached and a lot of wine bottles? Drunk driving and the Mario theme, that's what. We have included the complete lyrics so you can sing along after the jump.

Today, full of energy, Mario is still running, running
Go save Princess Peach! Go!
Today, full of energy, Mario runs
Today, full of energy, jumping!
Today, full of energy, searching for coins
Today, keep going, Mario!

Get a mushroom - it's Super Mario!
Get a flower - it's Fire Mario!

Goomba! Troopa! Buzzy Beetle! Beat them all!
Mario is always full of energy and strong!

[Spoken] The only one who can reverse the spell that has captured the Mushroom People is Princess Peach. But Princess Peach is hidden underground, in a far-off castle. Ah, the days of peace... if we could once more return to those days... to save Princess Peach and bring peace back to the Mushroom Kingdom, that is why Mario is on his journey today.

Today, full of energy, Mario is still running, running
Go and beat the Koopa tribe, go!
Today, full of energy, Mario runs
Today, full of energy, jumping!
Today, full of energy, searching for coins
Today, keep going, Mario!

Get a star - become invincible!
Quickly, go save Princess Peach!

Lakitu! Blooper! Cheep Cheep! Beat them all!
Mario is always full of energy and strong!

Today, full of energy, Mario is still running, running
He's made it to the castle and gets fireworks!
Lightly sidestepping the Hammer Bros.
Show the last of your power, Mario!
It's been a long journey but it's nearly at an end
You've done it, you've done it! You've defeated Bowser!

Princess Peach says "Thank you"
Mario's got a great big heart!

Mario's adventure is over for now, but
Mario's dream lives forever...

Come on. Sing. You know you want to. [Break via Boing Boing —lyrics taken from Destructoid]
