got one in the basement at dad's house, if you wanted those new stiff as a board jeans softened up, you just left them in the washer all day,(with a little bleach to reduce the "new blue")
take 'em out, dry them, and voila! new old bell bottoms in a jiffy.
yes, i said bell bottoms.

Stack them vertically and you pump the water once and let gravity do the rest. While it sits on the floor.
Like always Yanko, looks cool but you get an F.

The current he designs us far less water than the traditional "tub" setup w/ agitator, clean better, damage clothing less, and are space saving in that many can be stacked. So really what you need is for the washer to be what, 6" deeper than the Dryer w/ a vertical section as tall as the dryer. Then incorporate the dryer somehow so that it not only stacks (saves bending) but can dry a filter or 3 at once in the process so that you can safely contain the detergent (re-use?) and dispose of it properly.
Current HE designs are so efficient at removing water, that they electric dryers are as cheap to run as gas ones were for non HE applications. Oh, and they dry faster too!
