    @A/S/L-GitEmSteveDave loves->★: a couple years ago when i worked in a company that had a sign division, I used to get this stuff for free (I still have a ton of red left, if you're interested) and it worked really well on my commuter bike (I hate ugly reflectors). Go to a sign shop and ask if they have any scrap black reflective vinyl, as that's what it's more readily known as. It isn't used a lot, but they have it in pretty much every standard color.

    @lpranal: I have flashing red LED reflectors for my bike and myself, a light for my head, and a light for my bike. I am seen. What always makes me laugh are the people who don't see me from five feet away.

    That's great. So if you're riding your bike at night near the entrance to the Manhattan Bridge, your bike will glow white and red.
