Sony Ericsson W800 coming to U.S. [Cellphones]

The Sony Ericsson W800 Walkman phone is finally coming to the United States. This phone combines a cellular phone with a camera and an MP3 player for an explosion of electronic goodness. The phone ships with a 512mb Sony MemoryStick Pro Duo to store the music. While listening to music, incoming calls ring in through the headphones and the music will pause while conversing, then resume after the call is done. The phone also features a 2 megapixel camera and all other standard quirks of high-end mobile phones. This phone should be available later this month.

Apple Had Best Hurry Up With That Video [Apple]

Word around the iPod-fire is that Apple is planning video downloads and a video iPod in September of this year. They'd best get their ducks in a row right quick. There are a number of other little thingies coming into the horizon, including NetFlix's (NetFlix'?) video-on-demand solution. Obviously, movie studios are really worried about their bottom line because going to the picture show of an evening is such a wonderful experience and they don't want to take that away from us. Case in point: the wife and I went to see Wedding Crashers last night and the kids behind us took four phone calls and maintained a running commentary on their cars and sexual conquests throughout the film.

Regardless, it will be a very interesting time once a true VoD and iPod-branded piece of hardware hit the streets. Very interesting indeed.
