Back in the 80's you could have an Amiga 1000 with a 7MHz 68000 processor running 512K of RAM multitasking six different programs at once.
In 2008, you can have a top of the line Windows XP machine with a 2000MHz + multi-processor system running 512,000+K or RAM, and if you are lucky it will adequately run six programs at the same time without crashing.
Yeah, man - the 80's sucked.
