    What is the Pixi even trying to be? Centro replacement/entry level smartphone, sure, but really the Pre should have knocked down to $100. Bingo. The Pre could be the cheap phone which would open up a hole in the line-up for a more professional model. Throw a webOS phone with the Droid's form factor for $150 into the mix and you now have a line-up to compete with everyone. And thus ends my rant on what Palm's doing wrong this time. #palmpixireview

    Ha. At the Sprint Store trying the Pixi and this is the article I find...

    Regarding the stutteriness, this came up today on PreCentral forums today. There's something wrong with the radio programming that makes it trip out. Setting to Evdo or 1x only makes it smooth as butter. I just did it to their display model.

    Glitches suck and this thing has um. The brightness keeps changing too. Hope Giz revisits after an update. #palmpixireview

    I almost bought this for my wife this past weekend, but she was turned off by the smaller screen and lack of video, and I was turned off by the lag.

    She ended up getting the same phone as me, the Hero. No regrets. The Sprint store stated it was the best selling phone right now and the rep had one himself.

    But yeah, overall the form factor is really nice, and the keyboard did feel good. Just stick a faster processor in there, w/ a slightly better battery. And get that video recording out in WebOS already! #palmpixireview

    The no-wifi kills it for me. Especially if that was a GSM version, I'd need wifi desperately. And the small screen is just yuk. Personally, I don't consider phones with smaller than 3.2" screens anymore (4.3" 1280x720 would be ideal for me in the future). #palmpixireview

    @Leonce: Yeah, console gamers are a dumb lot, buying over priced peripherals. They possibly couldn't be sick of sitting at a computer all day using a goddamned mouse and keyboard.
    I guess other than the internet, no one can hear pc gamers from their mom's basement eh?

    @StanwayJobo: I never said consoles are a bad thing either. But console gamers will pay out the ass for meh peripherals. If you don't believe me, take a look at the mountain of plastic white Wii addons out there made by Nintendo. And don't get me started on the 3rd party ones either. #modernwarfare2

    @npd33: The original Chumby came with the idea that both the hardware and software were hackable, or more correctly open to the user for modifications and changes. it's basically the reason Chumby even exists. #chumbyone

    @npd33: Very much so, yes. The system runs on Linux, and is (aside from the flash player, which runs Adobe proprietary code) entirely open source -- they even release source code and hardware schematics/circuit diagrams. They encourage tinkering, the thing takes four screws to take apart/put together, and it's generally a hacker-friendly device (has an internal serial port that you just have to populate a header, and this one's memory is in the form of a 2GB microSD card inside it -- easily upgradeable internal storage that way.). If you don't want to void your warranty, you can even just enable SSH from the menus (it's hidden by a π symbol on the device info screen).
