That's because you'll draw your design on a touchscreen computer before hopping on.

Using prerendered chunks of track and a digital ruler, you can shape the path of their virtual roller coaster, bobsled track or jet flight. (Should you draw something that's impossible to perform, the system will guide and correct you.)

As for the simulation itself, your fate is in the hands of an industrial robot arm from Kuka Robotics, like you've seen in car plants. We can only assume that the robot shakes you at high velocities until you feel dizzy or sick, all while fans occasionally blow air at your face to simulate velocity.

Several years back, I tested a similar build-your-own coaster ride at DisneyQuest. Some effects were actually pretty wonderful, but the customization was fairly limited and the simulators were far more typical. Knowing my well-being is in the grasp of a robot that could literally destroy me makes the whole prospect sounds a lot more exciting. [CNN]

<![CDATA[What is the Best Amusement Park Ride You Have Ever Been On?]]> The Spring weather I am experiencing has really put me in a summer mindset. The other day it was grilling and today it's all about amusement parks.

So, my question to you is: what is the best amusement park ride you have ever been on and why?

<![CDATA[Triumph Speed Triple Carbon Motorcycle Comes In One Color Only]]> I can't decide whether I like carbon fiber, or I just love the color black.

The Triumph Speed Triple motorcycle features a 1050cc triple engine to get you going and twin 4-piston, 4-caliper brakes to bring you to a stop. But if that's not enough, a special, limited run of 55 Triumph Speed Triples will get the carbon treatment that includes a flyscreen, cowl, infill panels, heat shield, mud guard, and sprocket covers, all done up in the matte black material.

The carbon fiber privilege will cost you $11,800 over the bike's base price (which is probably pretty high to begin with). In other words, enjoy the pretty picture. [Triumph via Carbon Fiber Gear]

<![CDATA[Coney Island's Astroland Amusement Park Rides Now Available for Purchase]]> It's a sad day in New York City history: Astroland, the amusement park at Coney Island, is officially closed for business forever. But New Yorkers' loss is your gain: now you have an opportunity to buy the famed Astroland's rides to recreate the dirty, dirty magic in your own backyard.

Yes, you can own the awesome Break Dance ride for a mere $299,000. Too much for you? Well, how about the Bumper Cars? That's only $125,000. There are loads of rides available, with everything from a Tilt-a-Whirl to a Water Flume to a Pirate Ship, all for rock-bottom prices. The only ride not up for sale is the famous Cyclone roller coaster, which is staying open and giving people permanent back problems for the foreseeable future. At least we'll still have that.

Someone buy a bunch of these and open up an alternate Astroland somewhere. Please? [Rides 4 U via Brooklyn Vegan]

<![CDATA[Giant Phallic Inflatable Bungee Ride is the Most Fun Way to Break Your Neck Ever]]> If you're ever driving and you see a county fair with what appears to be three towering penises with clown makeup on them, pull over. You've just found the holy grail of dangerous rides.

Essentially, you're strapped in to a few bungee cords, pulled down really low and then released, flinging you flailing 25 feet into the air. Hopefully, you land on your feet.

Made by a few different Chinese manufacturers, this bad boy hasn't really caught on in the states for whatever reason. They may not be legal due to how obviously dangerous they are, or perhaps all of our county fairs are run by hand-wringing wussocrats. In either case, it's disappointing. If I want to die in a spectacular carnival accident, that's my prerogative, dammit. Let's bring these things Stateside. [BallerHouse via Oh Gizmo!]

<![CDATA[Prince Charles' Modded Aston Martin Burns 4.5 Bottles of Wine Per Mile]]> Prince Charles has discovered the perfect use for crappy English wine: He is using it as biofuel for his classic Aston Martin DB6. The Prince converted the 38-year old car to accept ethanol to play his part in reducing carbon emissions in the UK. The wine in question is a white distilled from the excess stock of a vineyard near Swindon, Wiltshire, which has the leftover wine because of EU quota restrictions, and not because it sucks or anything. Chuck's ride gets an awfully low 10mpg, equal to 4.5bwpm (bottles of wine per mile), but it pairs nicely with his tilapia-powered subwoofer, so who's to complain? [Daily Mail via Jalopnik]

<![CDATA[Puke-o-Matic Amusement Park Ride Isn't For the Weak Stomached]]> I'm not sure how old this is, but puking hasn't undergone many technological advancements in the last few years. This amusement park ride looks like perhaps the worst thing to possibly do on a stomach full of fried dough and cotton candy. These crazy Germans do 110 flips in a row and then have the tenacity to give themselves a hearty round of applause at the end of it. I don't know about you guys, but I got a little queasy just watching this thing. I can't imagine the puke explosions that would result from me actually riding it. [Glumbert via Spulch]
