Ugh. Cue another random bout of insomnia. I woke up this time and can't get my brain to stop thinking about work. So rather than think about work I figured I'd pop over to Giz.

What's odd is that work just got a lot less stressful and potentially a lot more interesting. I normally would think my inability to stop thinking about work would be because of the opposite happening. I find this somewhat worrisome...

@NorwoodIsMyHero: Hmmm.... could it be that you are actually excited about new opportunities at work?

Also, whenever work gets easy for me, or I don't get much exercise, I have trouble sleeping. I'm just not taxed enough.

So today while in my local Apple store a manager overheard me explaining some features of iPhoto to a stranger, and asked me I was interested in a job. They're currently hiring specialists.

I'd still have to apply, submit a resume, and all that good stuff... but I think I heard somewhere that when you work with Apple you're not allowed to post in forums, message boards, and stuff like this. Has anyone heard of this? Google has given me no solid answers.

@macpatrik: I'm sure that they have some reasonable policies about posting apple-related material while identifying yourself as an Apple employee. But as far as not being able to post whatsoever? Forget about it. That's a stretch.

Anyone know anything about affordable surround sound systems? Parents just got a country house, and I'm in charge of the budget for the " basement entertainment center" aka mancave. We're getting a nice big LED flat screen with a ps3 and while I know a little bit about TVs, I'm rather clueless when it comes to surround sound. I'm looking for something under $400 that is relatively easy to install but offers decent quality sound. The main purpose will be for playing videogames like modern warfare 2, and I was hoping to get an informed answer on the best system from some knowledgeable Gizmodians. Any suggestions?

@Giz-Guy: I dont know the price because I got mine 5 or 6 years ago at frys for $100, but my onkyo 5.1 is legit for the price. Almost tooo legit. They seem to be reasonably priced. Also, Do not get Sony for sound. I like to go to best buy or frys and test them, then just buy it online for cheap. Also, you need a really good receiver. We skimped on this and its such a hassle to mess with hdmi because our receiver doesnt do it. So get a receiver with a lot of hdmi IN. Finally, the thing that makes it come together like sweet butter is our logitech harmony. Any of them will do and they are cheap on amazon. Just give the program the model number of your component and it downloads the codes to the remote, even works on my hdmi switch i got from monoprice. WOW, i went far with this

In summary, I recommend onkyo for budget sound. And be sure to add a good receiver with hdmi in and a logitech harmony remote.
