Motorola RIZR Z6c Has Dual-Band GSM and CDMA

If we're reading this correctly, the Motorola RIZR Z6c has both GSM and CDMA, meaning you can take this phone from CDMA networks in the States (Sprint/Verizon) onto GSM networks all over the world (or onto AT&T/T-Mobile). The phone's just hit the FCC so we're not sure what Motorola's plans for this are in terms of carrier distribution other than Verizon, but we do know it has EV-DO rev. 0, so that may be a hint as to which providers this is heading to (maybe Sprint?). World phones are becoming more and more popular—see BlackBerry 8830—so it means Moto wants to get in on this James Bond globe-trekking market as well. [Phonearena]

T-Mobile MOTORIZR Z3 Official, Exclusive, and Less than $100

T-Mobile's confirmed our tipster and is officially launching the MOTORIZR today, March 21. The pricing is going to be $99 with a two-year contract ($249.99 if you buy it outright), and the phone comes with myFaves, a 2.0-megapixel camera, 8x digital zoom, flash, stereo Bluetooth, microSD slot, quad-band GSM, voice dialing, and a 1.9-inch screen.

If you're looking for a pretty decent slider phone, the RIZR's much better than the last-gen RAZRs. – Jason Chen

Thanks to our tipster at T-Mobile, we've gotten notice that the MotoRIZR is going to be headed their way tomorrow, March 21. The pricing is going to be $249 MSRP, with a $50 new activation rebate and or a $50 Mail in Rebate.

As for features, there's a music player, 2.0-megapixel camera, myFaves support, and the contentment you can only get by knowing you're using the same phone as a bunch of people who attended the Oscars. – Jason Chen

FCC Approves MOTORIZR, Gives Daughter's Hand in Marriage

Now that the MOTOKRZR K1 has been fully integrated into Alltel, Verizon and Sprint, it's time for Motorola's other RAZR to make its debut. The FCC has just approved the Motorola RIZR, or MOTORIZR Z3 as its known in 14-year-old kids' chatrooms.

Motorizr Hands On, First Impressions

The recently announced Motorizr ("RIZR" rhymes with Pfizer, the pharmaceutical company) made the rounds in New York yesterday and I was able to spend some time with the new kid on the block. Basically, if you're already a RAZR fan, you'll probably like the RIZR. If you're one of those people who can't stand the RAZR (either for its aesthetics, form/function or the "oh look, I have a RAZR—I'm cool!!1" mentality), the RIZR probably won't change your mind.

To me, it seemed like the RIZR was actually thicker than its RAZR cousin when it's closed. Since it's a slider, this is probably to be expected. The keypad is similar, if not identical, to the RAZR's, but, again, the smaller size of the RIZR means that everything, keypad buttons included, feels a little more cramped. The buttons push just as well as they do in the RAZR, so Motorola fans should feel right at home. The two-megapixel camera works as advertised (it takes pictures!), so no surprises there. Navigating the menus is fairly paint-by-numbers, but at least there's no noticeable lag from button push to action taken like in the LG Chocolate. It should be available here in the second half of 2006, with unofficial rumblings pointing toward a Q4 release. – Nicholas Deleon

Motorola MOTO RIZR Z3: Slider Officially Released

Moto's released a slider phone, their first under the new moto design mandate: look saucy. The phone was released in Korea last week.What we know so far makes it sound similar to the KRZR.

-176 220 TFT with 262K colors
-A 2-megapixel camera
-20MB memory plus microSD card slot
-Stereo Bluetooth
-Dimensions of 45.5 105.5 16 mm
-It's kind of fat at 0.6 inches (a tad thicker than a RAZR V3)
