hmm so if you have a 3 year replacement warranty with Fry's on a router, or heck, even xbox360 that sucks, this could be a nice, easy and fast way to getting that device replaced.

of course, i'm not recommending this because that would be wrong.

Sorry, I do not see the humor in this at all.

If the object on the other end of this circuit doesn't gasp and die almost immediately and break the circuit, the CAT5/6 will eat itself trying to carry the current which could lead to a fire or the device on the other end could do the same.

Maybe perhaps, when you are sacked for destruction of company property, you would truly the implications of an act childish for even a teenager.

@adlyb1: All valid points, but if you think the primary purpose of this device to actually be used you're missing the point. This is the sort of thing you just have hanging on the wall to let other tech savvy folks know you're not one to be trifled with.

Also, sometimes shit's just got to die. Either because it's some old POS on the fritz that corporate won't let you replace until it's completely dead or just because it's some unused piece of obsolete tech and watching stuff fry is fun (extension cord out to parking lot so there's nothing else to catch fire)
