    Road to CES: It's Here!

CES is upon us and we've got a load of events this weekend (not to mention news dropping) showing off all the new gadgets of 2008. On Saturday, there's the CES Unveiled event at 4 p.m. PST (7 p.m. EST) which we'll be reporting live at. Then, on Sunday, there's loads, loads and loads of press conferences. LG, Toshiba, Sharp, Philips, Samsung and Sony (not to mention others) will be dumping news on you starting from 8 a.m. PST (11 a.m. EST), followed by further events Sunday night at 7 p.m. PST (10 p.m. EST) where many other companies will be showing off their wares. We'll be reporting live and liveblogging all this stuff, so don't miss it.

Road to CES: Gadgets, Gadgets and Gadgets

If you've been checking up on us in the past couple of days, you'll notice that we've been doing big dumps of gadget posts all in a row, often from the same company. There's a reason for that: embargoes. More »

    The Road to CES: Liveblogs

Oh CES, how we love and despise you simultaneously. We love you because there's just so much electronic goodness in your stinky, sweaty halls; but we hate you because there's just so much stuff going on there that a person would have to spend a month to check out each and every gadget. There's good news though: press conferences. More »

Road to CES: What Do You Want to See?

Now that you know what CES is and why some of us go, here's a question for you: What do you want to see? We already know that there's going to be a big-ass TV there (and you can bet we're going to cover the hell out of it), but what are you interested in? Next-gen Blu-ray/HD DVD players? Weird stuff from Chinese manufacturers? Throw it out here and we'll do our best to bring it to you. Here's how to comment.

The Road to CES: The Parties

Our Road to CES Series continues with parties, one of the things attendees and exhibitors actually look forward to after a long day of pretending you don't want to punch people in the face. This year's no exception, with cocktail parties, invite-only parties, and crazy "Build Your Own PC" parties for people who are lucky enough to get invited. CES Party List has a gigantic list of all the parties going on, which is huge enough that you probably won't be able to go to every single one to mooch free drinks off of. Although that would be an awesome challenge. [CES Party List]

The Road to CES: A Starter's Primer

If you've just joined us in the last year, you might not be familiar with the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), one of the biggest trade shows for consumer electronics on the planet. What's so special about this one is not only its size, but the fact that companies hold many product announcements so they can debut them at CES, hoping to garner great word of mouth among all the press and industry types in attendance. In fact, most of the products that roll out throughout the year were first shown or hyped at CES the previous January. Now you can see why it's so big. More »
