And while there are no hard specs surrounding this rendering except that it's "coming soong," it will likely pick up where the Samsung U3 left off, which is to say it wants the iPod Shuffle's head. <![CDATA[ Samsung U940 Glyde Officially Glides Onto Verizon ]]> After months of unofficial teasing (and well over a year of hanging out overseas) Samsung's U940 Glyde is finally official for Verizon. Besides going all CDMA/EV-DO, the former F700 touchscreener with a QWERTY keyboard packs GPS, a full HTML browser, a gimped 2MP camera, VCAST and all the usual stuff like Bluetooth and microSD support. Oddly, no VCAST TV. If this year old, no-longer-a-fresh pup phone still excites you, it's $249 w/ a two-year contract and $50 rebate. Check out another picture (with keyboard stashed away) plus full spec sheet after the jump.

<![CDATA[ Helio Mysto Gets Official in Picture Form, Will Cost $150? ]]> While CrunchGear says they've got no specs to go with this picture of the "first official pic" of Helio's upcoming Mysto, its looks match up quite nicely with past mumblings that the Mysto is in fact Samsung's U600 slider. If it is, expect it to be tricked out a bit since the GSM model now available lacks 3G, though it comes with MP3, AAC and WMA support and FM radio out of the box, promising to be a decent little multimedia phone for $150 after some Helio tweaks. <![CDATA[ Samsung's Thin 3-Megapixel SCH-u900 FlipShot Camera Phone Hits Verizon ]]> Last time you saw the SCH-u900, it was fugly. Now, gussied up and ready for the holidays, the u900 makes its Verizon Wireless debut in red and black with a new nickname, the FlipShot. The 3.0-megapixel camphone replaces the now defunct a990 with a thinner body and a new rounded-edge look. It's got what you'd expect from a high-end feature phone: EV-DO, GPS with VZ Navigator, and Bluetooth—stereo audio, dial-up networking, serial port and object push for vCard, plus basic print and image profiles. The black version starts selling on Verizon's website today, while the seductive red model will only be available at Best Buy, beginning 11/26. Total cost for this baby will be $200, after you sign your life away for one-fifth of a decade, of course. [Verizon Wireless]

<![CDATA[ Verizon Readying a 15 Phone Barrage for the Rest of '07 ]]> Phone Arena snagged some docs laying bare the rest of Verizon's 2007 release schedule—no major surprises here, with most of the heavy hitters Verizon versions of stuff we've already seen, or at least heard about: the Blackberry Pearl, for instance, isn't exactly tingling our spines with freshness. [BGR is saying it's a Pearl 2.] Hit the jump for a down-and-dirty bullet point run-through of the fall spoilers.

• Moto Q9m and Q9c are the CDMA versions of the Q9h, and the consumer and business models, respectively. Q9m probably dropping by the end of the month; Q9c available Q4.

• UTStarcom SMT5800 (HTC Libra) is a WM6 smartphone with both a numeric and sliding QWERTY keyboard, 2MP cam, 128MB flash, 64MB RAM, EV-DO (upgradeable to Rev. A). Most likely available in Oct.

Samsung i760 is hitting in Sept.

• Another HTC phone, a Verizon version of the Mogul (UTStarcom XV6800)—same specs as Sprint's model it seems, also dropping in October.

• Palm Treo 755p will be in available in November, running Palm OS 5.4.9.

• RIM BlackBerry 8130 Pearl is another Verizon version of older phone, though it comes with a 2MP cam and EV-DO—still, not so exciting with the Pearl 2 around the corner probably the Pearl 2. No release date mentioned, oddly.

Moto Z6c Jackques is EV-DO CDMA but packs GSM for jetsetters who can wait until Nov. Its cousin, the Z6tv, um, has TV features, available "second half" of '07, we presume.

• Verizon CDM-8630 is an entry level with a simple UI and one-touch dialing, also second half of '07.

• Samsung SCH-U410 and LG VX5400 are two mid-level clamshells due by year's end, replacing the U340 and VX5300, respectively. The LG VX8300 is also getting bumped in that time frame, by the VX8350.

• Ending the list is a pair of Samsung phones: a CDMA version of the U700 and the U900, which looks to sport a 3MP cam and high-res camcorder. Both are slotted for the last half of '07.

Okay, end spoilers. [Phone Arena, Image via Flickr]

<![CDATA[ Top 10 Phones of 3GSM ]]>
The 3GSM World Congress only started today. But like children who can't keep secrets or hold their bladders, every handset maker announced its new lineup in "me first" fashion. Which is why we're able to bring you this top 10 list of the most outlandish, impressive and iPhone-like phones of the show. Starting with number 10...

10. Possio GRETA
When it comes to ballsy innovation, no touchscreen or banana phone beats this combination fax machine, printer, copier, scanner and cellphone in one. Why they painted it the color of maroon nail polish is a question that can probably only be answered by a regional manager for Dunder-Mifflin.

9. Motorola Q9
The Jay Leno chin is gone, the color is much, well, blacker, and it's a true global phone. Sometimes it's the little things that make all the difference.

8. RIM Blackberry 8800
The jury is still out on SureType, so RIM took all the best features of the Pearl (including the nipple-like navigator) and combined them with a full QWERTY keyboard. Crackberry-licious.Gallery.

7. Nokia 6110 Navigator
A GPS phone with 3.6 Mbps throughput will keep you one step ahead of pursuers, that's for sure. The $600 price tag, however, means that you are being chased by debt collectors. Gallery.

6. Samsung U100
Two words: Wafer thin. 5.9mm. Gallery.

5. LG Prada
The LG Prada is so hot right now it could take a crap, wrap it in tinfoil, put a couple fish hooks on it and sell it to Queen Elizabeth as earrings. It's going to be break-dance fighting with the Samsung U100 later tonight. Gallery.

4. Motorola Z8
A hinged slider phone that automatically switches into landscape mode? Everyone is going to want to try it once. Gallery.

3. Nokia N77
The great thing about Nokia is that they can take a bunch of features that everyone has seen before—mobile tv, push-to-talk, FM radio, micro SD slot—and freshen it up by turning the phone sideways. Gallery.

2. Samsung SGH-F520
This side-to-side and up-down slider with a touchscreen wins the award for the most iPhone-competitive handset at the show. Its Achilles heel? It will probably never be released outside of Korea.

1. Neonode N2
This phone, which uses an open software platform, probably has a snowball's chance in hell of being used outside of the homebrew mobile phone club. But the 3-inch tall, gesture-controlled phone is also a true harbinger of phones to come.

<![CDATA[ Samsung's Dangerously Thin Ultras: The 12.1mm 3G U700 Slider ]]> samsungu700.jpgLast but not least from Samsung today is the U700 slider, the thickest of the family at 12.1mm. It's got a 3.6Mbps HSDPA data connection, a 3-megapixel camera, and 20MB of onboard memory expandable via MicroSD.

Say it with me: it'll be available in Europe next month, with a stateside release unlikely.

<![CDATA[ Samsung's Dangerously Thin Ultras: The 9.6mm U300 Clamshell ]]> samsungu300.jpgSamsung's Ultra Edition II keeps on keepin' on with the U300, a 9.6-mm clamshell. It's got a 3-megapixel camera and 70MB of onboard space, although that isn't expandable via MicroSD for some reason. It packs a 2.2-inch LCD with 240x320 resolution and an external 96x16 OLED.

Like all the other Ultra Edition II's, it's hitting Europe next month with no concrete plans to bring it over here.

<![CDATA[ Samsung's Dangerously Thin Ultras: The 10.9mm Quad Band U600 ]]> samsungu600.jpgNext up in Sammy's Ultra Edition II line is the U600, clocking in at a not-quite-world's-thinnest 10.9mm thick. It's quad band, has a 3.2-megapixel camera, and 60MB of onboard storage expandable via MicroSD.

This one has the best chance of making it to the states due to its quad band connectivity, so keep your eyes peeled for it. It'll hit Europe next month first, you lucky Euros.

<![CDATA[ Samsung's Dangerously Thin Ultras: "Thinnest Ever" 5.9mm U100 ]]> samsungu100.pngSamsung's dropping bombs in Barcelona ― thin and expensive bombs. Their Ultra Edition II series is out of the gate, and they look pretty slick.

First up is the Ultra Edition 5.9 (U100), the "world's thinnest" candybar that we showed you a while ago. It's got a nice 3-megapixel camera and looks like it'd snap in half if you kept it in the pocket of some tight jeans. It's gonna hit Europe in March, with the chances of it coming stateside not exactly hopeful. Just keep them fingers crossed.
