Oh, wow, that analog watch looks impressive. I see they took some ideas from the amazing Vista gadgets sidebar. Really useful and inovating stuff.

@chefgon: Okay I'm going to explain. No I'm not suggesting that desktop widgets are not useful since I use quite a few on my dashboard, I'm actually mocking the fact that they so prominently display that watch as a distinctive characteristic of Android and how stupid that is since you already have a clock up there in the bar, and how that resembles what Microsoft did with Vista's sidebar.

It doesn't have HTC's Android 'chin', thank goodness, but lacks the 'nipple', which could have gone where the OK button is. Still, having had several Samsungs and liked 'em (voice quality is good, which y'know helps with a phone), this could be a contender.

@Linux chief hardware engineer: Actually it's quite the competitor. Just because you don't particularly like the product does not mean that others do not find value and use in it.

It is an open cell phone platform that any manufacturer can develop against and use. Which is a huge step towards being able to write standardized apps and services for cell phones. As of early last year Motorola had to develop for as many as 7 cell phone OSes.

The iPhone, while very nice, is not the end all be all of products for everyone.
