At midnight tonight, HyperMac will shutter shop and re-open as HyperJuice "in the coming weeks." This is, of course, due to Apple getting all legal on their use of patent-defying MagSafe connectors, but HyperMac is hopeful something can be arranged.
This is why we can't have nice (allegedly patent-infringing) things! After drawing legal heat from Apple for its MagSafe connectors, HyperMac has announced that they'll stop selling their MacBook charging cables and car chargers on November 2nd. But there's hope!
We here at Gizmodo HQ love ourselves some HyperMac batteries, but apparently Cupertino doesn't share our enthusiasm. Apple is suing parent company Sanho over six patents relating to MagSafe and iPod. And it looks like they may have a case.
When on vacation and not wanting to tote around two laptops and three spare external drives, it's nice to have a gadget to dump and view photos on. Sanho's HyperDrive Album could be that gadget—if it weren't overpriced.
Batteries are usually just a boring, blunt necessity, on account of being batteries and all. But HyperMac's line of Apple-friendly lithium-ion battery packs are a colorful exception to the rule. Plus: battery babes!
