Samsung Holds 3 World Records for Cellphones

The 2008 edition of the Guinness World Records book will feature three records for Samsung cellphones. The SGH-U100 is the world's thinnest cellphone at 5.9mm, the SCH-B600 has the highest photo resolution in a cellphone at 10MP and the SGH-Z370 is the world's thinnest 3G cellphone at 8.4mm. However, with the speed that these records change, it seems like the achievement isn't just in making these phones, but releasing them to coincide with the compiling of the next book. [I4U]

Samsung Unveils Its First Phone With Video Editing Capability

What's the next logical step in the YouTube user-generated content video craze? Well, even if you didn't read the headline, you probably guessed it: the ability to edit video on your phone then upload right away. Samsung just unveiled the SCH-B750 in Korea. It twists, Nokia N90-style, into a camcorder posture for shooting. When your clip is shot, you can cut it up, add text and background music, then send it straight to a website, such as Korea's www.pandora.tv, all straight from the phone. Jump for more photos of the phone (and the lovely model). More »

Samsung is bringing a new phone equipped with Mobile TV to South Korea, the SCH-B710. Samsung SCH-B600 Has a 10-Megapixel Camera Inside

Here's what Samsung is calling "the world's first super camera phone," the Samsung SCH-B600. That's a 10-megapixel digital camera in there, and the lens is long enough to let it zoom 3x optically. A neat trick: the phone is 6mm thinner and 10g lighter than Samsung's 7-megapixel V770 camera phone it introduced last year. It works just like a regular digital camera, too, with autofocus, a 2.2-inch 240x320 LCD display and video at 320x240 and 30fps. The bad news is that it will initially only be available in Korea for $900. More »

Samsung SCH-B510: Or Why Does Korea Get All The Cool Phones Part XXXVIII

The Samsung SCH-B510 is yet another sexy, ubertech phone we may see in the US, but it will be in 100 years when humans have evolved past the point of verbal communication. This candybar is only 8.4mm thick and supports DMB - allowing customers to watch digital television on their phone (South Korea) - and also sports MP3, a 2-megapixel camera, micro SD, 3D messenger (no 4D yet??), and MS file viewer. Sure, we could have posted a picture of just a phone, but then we all miss the internal dilemma: "Must look at girl...must look at phone...so thin...so beautiful...so multifunctional..." More »

Samsung DMB TV Phone

Once again, the Koreans skip ahead of us in the cellphone space, this time with the SCH-B360 Satellite DMB TV mobile phone. Measuring just 3.8" x 1.9" x 1" and weighing just 0.2 lb, it's got a 2-inch color screen and 2-megapixel camera. That's quite a little powerhouse. But don't hold your breath, folks, we've got quite a while to wait before we get something like this. We're just breaking out the 2-megapixel cameras over here! More »

Samsung Shows Smallest DMB Phone

The features are pretty much the same as Samsung's D600 phone, but the more recent SCH-B360 now has DMB (Digital Media Broadcasting) capabilities, letting you watch your fave TV shows. And what do you think this does? Well, I'll tell you. Its diminutive size makes it the smallest DMB phone yet. Ok, so watching any of your programming on such a tiny screen doesn't really make much sense, but when there's a first involved, who really cares, right? Look for this phone early next year from SK Telecom. More »

Samsung's HD Widescreen Phone

That's right, another Asia-only phone has been announced simply to piss us all off. It makes our petty attempts at mobile TV look like tea time at the Girl's Place. Samsung's SCH-B250 actually shows HD TV (which many of us can't even get in our homes yet), coupled with a 2 megapixel camera, 128 Mb of memory and an Office and PDF document viewer. And man is it just the sweetest looking thing, with a clamshell flip screen that swivels to give you widescreen moble viewing. More »
