Only soon, everyone in that film will no longer be able to feed themselves or their children...good work.
There are always at least 2 sides to every issue & "Solutions", more often then not are compromises.
And $8 a day is a salary worth fighting for in Guiyu, China.
(And, yes, they spelled the city wrong in the story)

We may be comfortable here in the West, but that doesn't mean that we can't be concerned about the health and comfort of those elsewhere, nor that we should simply tolerate waste, pollution or horrid working conditions abroad just because they're not "1st World" countries. Cleaning up that kind of pollution, and actually making sure that those who cause the waste in the first place are financially responsible for its disposal, can actually create good jobs. And by setting standards (or enforcing existing standards) we not only help other countries raise living conditions, but we also ensure that the US is competitive by making other companies follow the same sort of guidelines that American companies have to.
