    I can see how a camera mask could be useful - divers might need their hands for something, like repairing underwater cables, poking sea cucumbers, or fondling large fish. I wouldn't go as far as calling the concept "dumb". I will agree that this particular mask is a bit too bulky to be practical, especially with the lights.

    Interesting. Not sure I'd want so much extra on my mask, but it makes sense in a lot of ways. To take good pictures underwater, you need to have decent lighting.


    Too much stuff going on with your mask is a bad thing.

    man while they are at it why don't they also have an arm that protrudes from the mask that holds bait so then the fish will swim up closer to you and you can then take rad vids with your 720p vid camera. WOOHOO! The swiss army knife of goggles. They should make the light also interchangable in color so you can have sweet effects underwater and maybe a strobe light feature and you can open up your own personal club and dance floor. ANDDD speakers built in so I can attach my waterproof case that has my Iphone in it so I got my beats underwater with me! Que: Sisqo Thong Song

    @Kev50027: God I hate that I'm getting ready to contribute to this...but....


    Here is the problem with a troll-y-flame-y little off-topic thread. It seems innocuous enough because the whole conversation is trapped in one little thread. But! It stays featured on the main page next to the post as the "most discussed."


    So Kev's apparent need to let everyone know how he feels about something else entirely gets its own little soap box, when what he should really do (if he feels so strongly about it) is stick to the old post and argue with himself while everyone else has moved on or start his own little blog called "My Personal Reactions to Journalistic Decisions by Jesus Diaz" where we could all ignore him in peace.


    Please try to make an effort (I tried, I promise) to not feed the trolls.

    I dunno, dealing with external crap is a freaking hassle. It looks like the lights retract to be flush. And sometimes you just want to record your dive not win an award for your beautiful pictures. I'd be willing to try this.
