Well that's a much-needed vote of confidence from a world-leading auto maker. Of the fantasy electric/hybrid sedans that won't be available, I'd still rather have a Fisker myself, but I guess Tesla doesn't fit in that category any more.
@is Happy_Nick: Daimler AG produces the Mercedes cars. The name Daimler-Benz died out sometime in 1998 when it merged with Chrysler, but went back to Daimler with Chrysler's disposal.
Wow, I've got nearly 3 on an SL and I have tons-o-problems, not to mention NO AUDIO IN PORT AND THE WORST NAVIGATION EVER AND NO IPOD CONNECTOR MONEY CAN BUY.
Oh and its possessed and stays on for hours with the key out, that too. But randomly, so if I can duplicate it win front of the Benz dealer they cant fix it.
i am really gonna miss the day when we no longer hear the chorus of mean dual V8 exhaust growling at a red light. i rev mine every once in a while just because i know one day it will be gone.
@Guy_Whitey_Corngood: i wondered the same. can you imagine a BSOD as you cruise down the highway at 80mph? lol. hopefully they had the good sense to use anything but windows.
At least they'd have an entire assload of puns at their disposal. Minimizing the actual windows of the car, and so forth. Hmm, "restore" would actually be a great feature for the car windows.
Ya' know, to me it looks just like every other jelly-bean-shaped car of the last decade, yawn for the "big unveiling". But then, I'm not a car person, what do I know?
@Kaiser-Machead: Is it the front wheel placement that gives it that Bimmer look?
I'm not sure what it is but I thought Bimmer when I first saw it too. I always noticed how the front wheel is much closer to the front on a BMW then most other cars. Is that what we're picking up on or is it another design element I'm missing but just subconsciously associate with BMWs?
@tande04: The rear end of the car reminds me of the latest 3-series coupe taillights, though a bit more expanded and curved out with less of a boot lip.
And yeah, BMW likes to push the wheels out to the corners, so the front has little overhang. At the 3 quarter view from the rear, it has a pretty similar Bimmer stance.
The big three were bailed out because it was argued that a their failure would cause a systematic explosion in unemployment throughout the country further damaging an already weak economy. It was beneficial to the economy as a whole to bailout these private companies. Tesla's layoffs would barely be a blip on the radar and would hardly slow the integration and availability of electric vehicles to the American public. Let em fail. Next please.

Mercedes electronics are an epic fail. Everything malfunctions! Please save Tesla from their presence!

Either that, or this is still a prototype version.

@ltethe: "Screw you, the black ones are the best."
Gentlemen, gentlemen, please! No need to argue. Black ones, white ones, it doesn't matter; here in the Castro, they all suck.
