Sega Genesis was the first console I ever owned. I played every Sonic title for hours and hours. Then I got a Game Gear when it came out which everyone knows was ahead of its time.
@Adam Jackson: It was so far ahead of its time there was no appropriate solution to power the damn thing! It took a fist-full of AAs and drained 'em in a few hours. It was fun while it lasted, but sat dead most of the time.
And back then there weren't nearly as many remotes to pillage batteries from.
@Scotland: Well, I had a Super Nintendo, so I feel obligated to point out that the only one of those games that was exclusive to the Genesis is Sonic.
Micro Machines ruled.
And on the subject of Disney Games, there was another good one for Genesis. It was Mickey's Hall of Magic or some such nonsense. One of my favorite Co-Op games. The other player actually had to pull Donald through narrow areas due to his girthy hips.
@elementary: "Mickey Mania" and "World of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck" were/are great. Toy story was another great Disney Genesis game.
(A lot of the Genesis games require a picture to jog my memory. Rocket Knight Adventures, Eternal Champions and Smash TV are great games but just words to me until I see a picture.)
@Scotland: World of Illusion! That was it. Oh and while I loved Eternal Champions, I will freely admit that it was one of the worst fighting games of all time. Just ahead of the original Mortal Combat. Which falls into the category of "looked cool, played like crap" along with Dragon's Lair.
