Canon Brings Bucket-Shaped Selphy CP770 to US

It was one of those wacky things we thought might not make it to the US but sure enough it has: Canon's CP770 Selphy printer lives, hermit-crab like, inside a bucket. Details of the thing are after the jump, but the US price is $150. Canon also announced the CP760, which as you can see in the gallery is not as cute, but is "compact" and costs just $100. Both printers use dye-sub layered printing, now with an "overcoat" technology to help cut back on blurring. More »

Canon's Printer-in-a-Bucket Selphy CP770 is One For The Kids

Canon's new dye-sublimation photo printer is a departure from the boring old box designs: it's basically a bucket, and is aimed at kids. The bucket part unclips, and is supposed to store wires and accessories rather than sand and a collection of worms. The printer itself is designed for easy operation, with big buttons, a 2.5-inch TFT and accepting all varieties of SD card, MMC and MemoryStick and xD too.

Canon's Selphy ES2 Photo Printer Can't Hold Your Lunch

Though the lunchbox business is long dead, their futuristic-yet-tote-friendly look has made its way to the 4x6 photo printers. Canon's 4.5lb. dye-sub Selphy ES2 is the latest example, with its 3" LCD, an "Easy-Scroll" wheel, simple snap-and-print ink cartridges and built-in clipart for adding cartoon antics to your more somber shots. Now if only the $200 printer came emblazoned with Batman or, say, Josie and some of the tastier Pussycats. [Canon]

PMA 07: Canon Selphy ES1 Lets You Take a Printer With You

Amidst the dozens of cameras and camcorders Canon was flaunting at PMA 07, this little Selphy ES1 photo printer caught our attention. It's a diminutive portable printer that's made to take to events such as weddings and family gatherings, letting you shoot lots of pictures and then make color prints (4x8" maximum) and hand them out to everyone as you go.
