It seems like you'd want dock connectors in the housing, so that you could power the iphones if needed, and use it for longer than whatever the iphone's standby life is.

@farcedude: Unless I've understood the article incorrectly, each iphone will show up as its own server, right? So, there's no real point to carry them all together like that, except to keep them from jostling into each other when you need that much storage space.

The thing that would justify a setup like that is if one of the iphones could run the server software, and use the disk space on the other iphones for a raid setup.

@NameIsDave: My iPhone 3GS is better than a my old iPhone 3G. So no, iPhones are not each other's peer. The black iPhone 3G was better than the white (because it didn't hatch) and they were the same generation.

Perhaps your Android phones are content to have a hivemind and serve in the Clone Wars but the iPhone is only looking out for itself.

Case in point: Stalin had Trotsky assassinated even after exile.

If you put an iPhone 3GS together with an iPhone 3G, you'll wind-up with an iPhone 3G with an icepick jammed into the logo. The iPhone will crush you under its jackboot.
