I'm really surprised that so many people actually bought into this idea. Honest question to those who bought the Rebel EFI: did you try any other method of Hackintoshing before purchasing this? #rebelefi
I had a similar experience. I purchased the Rebel EFI and was unable to install it on two computers. In one case, the solution *should* be simple, since the problem is only that it hangs at the point when it tries to eject the Rebel EFI CD.
I emailed Psystar support several times and got useless results. They never indicated that they read my information. The responses were canned; one pointing to a new ISO version, another saying I could send them my computer and they would try to support it (oh yeah, sure).
So I lost $50 on this. Here's hoping nobody else does. #rebelefi
@porksnorkel: I would contact your credit card company and explain that this merchant did not deliver said merchandise, also contact the BBB, doing nothing is not a good avenue. #rebelefi
@Faslane's avatar is squished: Thats the wrong way to say your supposed to say "i'm glad i didn't pay for that, screw'em " Gives the illusion that you was gonna pay for it and that you torrent it. #rebelefi
This happens with a lot of products sold on Amazon and Overstock. Lots of jewelry sold on these sites have lots of reviews that are just paid shills (often employees of the jewelry distributor) that give it a five star rating and rave over the product, while reading the product specs in front of them. Of course, it was sometimes contrasted greatly by the reviews where the item was actually not what they ordered, or the setting was cheaply made.
On an unrelated note - Dan, you seem like a "default settings" kind of guy.
I only mention this because the screenie is Firefox with the default Strata theme on top of XP. You've even got a Google search bar in addition to the Google search box.

Psystar sounds more and more like a gaggle of friggin' crooks. Why anyone on earth gives them money for their shit is beyond me. #rebelefi

1: Pirate the RebelEFI software or a Mac OS 'installer' disk like iATKOS.
2: Buy a cheap netbook and Hackintosh it with pirated software. #rebelefi

I think I have a surge protector by them too. It works fine and does a good job of sitting up a dresser with crap plugged into it.

The big problem is that I keep paying people, and I still have not figured out where they are putting in their positive reviews, and how it helps me.
I hope Belkin is having better luck with their paid reviews.
