Sharp LED Lightbulbs Sets the White Point In Your Entire House |

(Hey, I'm all for LED, but not until the bulb prices are inline with CF...)

1) As far as Photoshop goes, if you polish poop, you get polished poop.
2) CFLs are a marketing gimmick. They are as "green" as VitaminWater is "healthy". Until LEDs drop in price, the best way to conserve without also destroying the planet is to DIM a Halogen bulb.

But $82 a pop...well...I can't see a return on that unless you are building a home that is off the grid (and you can afford that).

I know these are going to cost ~$40 apiece at the very least, but We're talking cutting wattage down from 13 to less than half that, 4-7 Watts!
Funny how 2/3 of the bulb is the LED Heatsink...

It would house a power adapter/voltage regulator, control board, and hardware to receive the signal from the remote... and a heat sink for it all. Most home lighting LED bulbs seem to be similarly shaped though... actually, this looks nice because there's more "bulb" at the top, and not just a lens, so it should be a bit more omnidirectional.
@Assassin_Kensei:
LEDs are already very much directional by nature. Any light generated that is not already going "out" would hit not a reflector, but the gallium nitride layer that's emitting the light.
