After finding all five eggs, the site displayed a message to come back on August 11th for "hidden treats". Since August 11th came and went without any announcements, Abe emailed the company that designed the site for T-Mobile to ask them whether there were any updates coming soon. Their response: check back in a few weeks for some nice Limited Edition stuff.

Now if this is true, it would mesh very nicely with the Sidekick Timeline we posted about almost a year ago, noting that there's a Sidekick III Limited edition due Oct. 6th for $399. We don't know if that's the right price, but that date seems to be on target.

Sidekick

Thanks Abe!

<![CDATA[Rumor: Sidekick Launches June 26th?]]> We've had our share of pictures and guesses, but it looks like this time may just be the right time for the Sidekick III.

Our sources say there's going to be a celeb-filled launch party in NYC on the 20th of June, and a subsequent launch for us unwashed seldomly-washed heathens on the 26th. They also say they've confirmed the date with other, equally anonymous T-Mobile reps. Other than the dates, we don't know if there's going to be any kind of trade-in program for owners of SKIIs, or anything about the pricing structure.

<![CDATA[Another Leaked Sidekick 3 Picture]]> The excitement we feel every time we're sent another leaked Sidekick 3 photo is just as intense as seeing our mailboxes full of pictures from the girl from Canada we met at camp that summer after 8th grade. And just like with Clarissa, we can't wait to get our grubby little hands all over this baby.

The only difference: her pictures didn't have sidekick3.blogspot.com written on it.

<![CDATA[Sidekick II Officially Discontinued]]> Looks like the Sidekick III is almost upon us! Reader A.J. drops the third party bomb:

I'm a third party dealer for T-Mobile, and after calling up today to place the weekly order for phones, I was informed that the Sidekick II has officially been discontinued by T-Mobile. They are stating a mid-June launch for the Sidekick III, and if anyone wants a Sidekick II they'll have to hurry up and try and pick one up on the cheap before inventory dries up, as they can no longer be ordered from the carrier.

So if you really want a Sidekick II, say as a collector's item, you better get down to your local T-Mob quick. Catherine Zeta Jones has no patience for latecomers.

Thanks A.J.!

<![CDATA[Possible Sidekick 3 Marketing Pic]]> This official looking shot of the Sidekick 3 is the first clear picture we've gotten at the new device. Looking pretty similar to the FCC shots we saw, the picture shows the four navigation buttons on the corners. We can also get a good look at the keyboard, which looks glossy and not too plastic-like.

Other rumors mentioned on the Sidekick 3 blog is that T-Mobile is planning on announcing a release date soon. The release date? June 26th. So if a QWERTY communicator appeals at all to you, you may want to hold off purchasing a new phone until we hear more definitive news.

<![CDATA[Sidekick III Docs Show Up On FCC Website]]> Turns out those rumors of Sharp being the manufacturer of the Sidekick III were true. The FCC's website coughs up the goodies again, with details that it will have a 1.3 megapixel camera, bluetooth, IM software and expandable memory in the form of some type of SD card. We can't say exactly when it will ship, but it's likely to be sometime this summer. Somewhere in LA, there's a very excited Paris Hilton.
