It's completely sealed in a silicone outer shell with "no" moving parts, which explains its waterproof-ness. If our experience with silicone keyboards is worth anything, these things are pretty hard to type on, making this a silent, waterproof and awkward keyboard. [Man Machine via DVICE]

<![CDATA[Thanko's Silent Keyboard Only Makes 6db]]> We seriously don't know how you IBM keyboard lovers get any work done when it sounds like Optimus Prime pleasuring himself with a jackhammer. Us? We like things quiet. Quiet like this Thanko Silent Keyboard. It only makes 6db, compared with the 30db a "regular" keyboard makes. Although we'll still stick to Microsoft's Wireless Entertainment Desktop series for our quiet keyboarding needs, this $33.17 keyboard is good for those who don't take typing quite that seriously.

We also hope it works better than the Thanko silent mouse we had to execute.

<![CDATA[Buffalo's Silent Mouse Keeps Your Wife From Leaving]]> Back when we were living in a one bedroom/living room/kitchen dump, our wives would always complain about the keyboard and mouse noise keeping them up at night. Or waking them up in the morning. Or bothering them while they were listening to music. Come to think of it, they probably just wanted a divorce.

Nevertheless, Buffalo's silent mouse, which probably uses a similar technology to Thanko's, would have come in handy back then, if just to give them one less thing they could harp on.

<![CDATA[Completely Silent Non-Electric Humidifier]]> If the gurgle, gurgle, drip, drip sound of your humidifier keeps you up at night, try your hand at this Non-Electric Humidifier. Completely silent thanks to the lack of moving parts, the humidifier uses a wick to draw water and allows hot air to pass through from your forced-air vents, evaporating the water and humidifying your air.

You'll need to replace the wick every month, but the main unit is only $30. Great for if you're always waking up in the middle of the night because your throat is dry (me), and traditional humidifiers keep you awake (not me).

<![CDATA[Thanko Noiseless Keyboard]]> Thanko first offered its silent mouse, and now its tiptoeing companion, the Thanko Noiseless Keyboard has made its debut. Well, it's not exactly noiseless, but the company says it's so quiet that it only makes 30.2dB worth of racket, even when you're banging away at it with reckless abandon.

We realize this is a personal decision, and some really do like a clickety-clackety noisy keyboard that really lets you know when you've struck a key. But the rest of us don't want a keyboard whose clicks and clacks are so loud that you can still hear them reverberating through your head after you've gone to bed. Thanks, Thanko.
