But there are some things that, chances are, we'll never, ever see using the service. Let's change that.

For this week's Photoshop Contest, I want you to come up with some ridiculous things that we'll never see using Google Street View. I'll leave that pretty open to interpretation, so feel free to go crazy.

Send your solutions to me at contests@gizmodo.com with "Fake Street View" in the subject line. Save your files as a JPG, PNG or GIF, and use a FirstnameLastname.jpg naming convention, using whatever name you want to be credited as. Send in your entries by next Tuesday morning, and I'll through them and pick the winners and put the best of the rest in our Gallery of Champions. Get to it!

<![CDATA[The Simpsons Gets 20 Years of Apple Jokes Out of the Way at Once [The Simpsons]]]> Though The Simpsons has a history of satirizing tech culture, and even Apple specifically, last night's episode felt like it was making up for a bit of lost time. It's not just iPods and iMacs getting reprefixed and animated: it's Apple Stores, the G4 Cube, past and present fanboys, vintage advertising and even Steve Jobs himself. Even if Groening and co. aren't exactly breaking new ground here (though they seem to reserve some special venom for Mr. Jobs), there are more than a few great lines buried in the sketch. <![CDATA[Simpsonized Superheroes Break All Our Fetishmeters [Fetishmodo]]]> A cruel, very talented man named Dean T. Fraser has decided that our Simpsons, Batman, Iron Man, Spiderman, Halo, and miscellaneous superheroes, supervillain, and sci-fi fetishes weren't enough on their own, so he Simpsonized them all. Now, if anyone makes any of the characters in this amazing gallery out of Lego, I will spontaneously self-combust in a fiery ball of nerdgasmic lust.

We want a "DC vs Marvel: the Springfield Wars" miniseries now. [Springfield Punx, Thanks Oscar]

<![CDATA[Simpsons-Engraved iPods Are Great If You Don't Have Your Own Laser Etcher [IPods]]]> Unlike certain other Fox properties, seeing the Simpsons continue to be milked for merchandising doesn't fill me with quite so much rage, so these officially engraved iPods are cool for hardcore fans. But for the $80 premium over standard price for an iPod classic, I'm more inclined to take the one I already have to our pal Phil and burn in a portrait of Mr. Burns saying "Have the Rolling Stones kiilled." <![CDATA[The Best Bill Gates Parodies Ever [Bill Gates Retirement Party]]]> So what does Bill Gates really have to show for his years of hard work? Sure he built a software empire, and yeah he has been known as the richest man alive. But those things aren't as cool as being immortalized on film and in song. Maybe. Either way, he's been cartooned, acted, clayed, and even sung about. So with Bill's retirement only days away, we thought it was only fitting we gave you a mash-up of all these green sweater, glasses wearin' characters.

If you didn't already guess which videos were used above, here's a list. There's The Simpsons, Celebrity Death Match, South Park, 2DTV, Freakazoid and of course Pirates of Silicon Valley.

What about the song you say? Well, it's by a group called, wait for it, Komputer. The song is titled, wait for it, "Bill Gates", and is the third track on their 1997 album The World of Tomorrow. If you can't seem to get the song out of your head, you can buy it on both iTunes and Amazon.com.

At the end of this week Bill Gates will leave his post at Microsoft, but his various TV and film characters will live on forever. Since Ballmer will be taking over, we can only hope that he gets the same treatment, cause a crazy-ass cartoon character of that guy would be hilarious.
Add vids we missed in the comments.

<![CDATA[Mr. Burns Webcam is Nice, But It's No Futurama [Peripherals]]]> mister_burns_webcam.jpgStaring into Mr. Burns' desk when you're making Skype calls with your friends is nice and all (and for a price of $49 it's hard to argue with it), but it's no Futurama. What we'd really like is a Bender webcam, or a Fry webcam, or a Professor webcam, or a Robot Devil webcam, or a Scruffy webcam—pretty much anything from the Futurama universe. I guess what we're trying to say is that Futurama rules and should not have been cancelled. [ThinkGeek via Random Good Stuff via DVice]

<![CDATA[Simpson Punk Gets Steampunked [Steampunk Fix]]]> zbartpu.jpgOur lovable yellow cartoon character of Simpson's fame just got a little Steampunk makeover. Titled Biomechanical Artificial Roving Terrain, the toy features a sky dome for a head, within which is teeny-weeny Unibear figurine.

The design is cool and we want one for our HQ so our offices can look arty and quirky, instead of messy and shambolic, like they usually do. The artwork was displayed at a recent event at the Showroom in NYC. The tour goes on across the country, if you are extra keen to get to see Bart in his metallic flesh, jump to the link and pester those lovely people at PlushPlay for a schedule of their tour. <![CDATA[Giant Homer Head Radio [Simpsons]]]> homer-radio.jpgIt's just an AM/FM radio. It doesn't go "Doh!" or "WooHoo!" or sing "Spiderpig, Spiderpig!"But somehow, this giant Homer head radio, almost a foot tall, is good enough to make me think about buying it.

<![CDATA[Homer Simpson Robosapien Caught on Video [Clips]]]> In the realm of horrible Simpsons knockoff toys, this Homer Simpson Robosapien has to be one of the worst ever. Shall we count the things wrong with it? First, it's not even the real Homer's voice. Second, well, it's a piece of crap. Watch the video to see Shiny Shiny struggle to get the thing to work. <![CDATA[Limited Edition Colorware Xbox 360 Commissioned for Simpsons Movie: Get Your Own [Simpsons Catchphrase Here]]]> xbox_simpson_1.jpgIf you're a fan of the Simpsons or Xbox 360, take a look at this limited edition Simpsons Movie console. There's only 100 models being made, which are being given out as prizes in various competitions leading up to the movie's release on July 27.

However, we did get an insider tip that told us Colorware did the work for these. You know, Colorware, the same guys who paint Xbox 360s, PS3s, and Wiis for you? So you could technically get make your own Simpsons-ish console by ordering a yellow-colored one from Colorware. Just be prepared to go without Homer's head. But it does match in well with the EA Simpsons game that's coming soon too.

<![CDATA[Toughen Up Your Mac Mini With VictorSystems [We're Gonna Pump You Up]]]> wolfcastlemini.jpg
There are some great Mac Mini setups out there, but none of them would hold up to military conditions. Enter VictorSystems. They took your typical pint-sized Mac and covered it in aluminum armor, wrought plates and finned heat sinks. Now the Mini is combat ready.

But what good is a beefed-up Mac if you don't have equally tough peripherals? You can also pick up tough-as-nails keyboards, monitors, mice or even speakers. No word on pricing, but expect a decent price jump for a Mini that could beat you up.

<![CDATA[The Simpsons Jukebox: Because Matt Groening Needs More Money To Work On Futurama [Gadgets]]]> simpsonsjukebox.jpgDid you know Futurama was coming back for 13 episodes and some straight-to-DVD movies in 2008? It's true. That's why we should all buy this $39.99 Simpsons Jukebox, which is an AM/FM clock radio with snooze, backlight, and knobs on the front.

You may not like the radio, but any cash given to Groening should be used to allow him to spend his time on Futurama instead of working on the Simpsons Movie or any other Simpsons project.
