Fellow skater Anthony Pappalardo is attempting to ride this unwieldy beast around Manhattan in this video with limited success. Perhaps with a stronger frame and some practice, it would be possible to do really amazing tricks on something like this. Like completing a "loop of death" without physically going upside down. <![CDATA[Photo Light Skateboard Enables 24-Hour SK8 Fanaticism]]> Okay SK8rZ, save up your mom's pennies, because here comes the Photo Light Skateboard, lighting up sidewalks and metal stair railings with enough LEDs to illuminate that Christmas tree sitting on the curb. Between 29 and 54 LEDs draw attention to you, but it'll cost you $110 to $200 for the privilege of riding atop all the falderal. [BeSportier]

<![CDATA[iPod+Skateboard=No More Dropping]]> The sexy metallic rear finish of an iPod has long offered users the fulfillment of discovering just how much oil their fingertips produce on a daily basis. But it's also quite slippery, especially in a pocket. After losing his new iPod Touch to a deep cab seat, one ex-skateboarder gone tech reporter put two and two together and realized that anti-slip skateboard tape just might be the solution to this global problem. The verdict? Works like a charm.

Not only does the self-adhesive tape make for an easy install, but, in this humble blogger's opinion, it adds a little street cred to your yuppieware. Plus, in moments of self-defense, one's iPod can be used as part of a lethal "sandpaper attack" sure to chafe even the burliest of assailant. [sbdc via gearfuse]

<![CDATA[Wii Skateboard Lacks Motion Sensing (Has Rumble)]]> If you're a big Wii fan—and who isn't, what with Nintendo selling more units than there are grains of rice in my lunch—this black market Wii Skateboard should be just the thing for your after-school shenanigans. It's not only somewhat shaped like a Wiimote, it even has all the correct buttons and fake LED lights to denote that you're the first player. You'd just better get yours before Nintendo decides to sue. [Kotaku]

<![CDATA[Mama Boards: Runaway Strollers Now Come With Mothers Attached]]>
For mothers who simply aren't going fast enough when carting around their pint-sized overlords, a German company offers the Mama Board. Apparently, it latches to the rear axle of any stroller, after which it's nothing but fast-flying fun after a grocery run or a trip to the park.

A short WMV clip on www.mamaboard.de details the assembly and shows footage of mothers rolling around. We have to ask: Are these things sidewalk-legal? Or will mothers have to hit the streets and keep up with car traffic? The site doesn't mention any kind of failsafe if the board detaches from the stroller, although the mom in the photo doesn't seem too worried. That kid, on the other hand, doesn't seem so sure.

<![CDATA[Laser Etched 3D Skateboard Designs]]> There's a new option for the poser who wants to have the best-looking skateboard on the block, especially if they're the type who will never ride it: Three-dimensional laser etching.

A bunch of designers hacked away at the plywood using an Epilog Legend 36EXT laser and went to work on over 80 different boards. When we first heard about the idea we thought the designs would be pretty rudimentary, but they can actually produce pretty intricate images at 1200dpi.

However, having the sweetest deck on the block will set you back, $500 to be exact. And that doesn't even include the wheels.

<![CDATA[Freeline Skating, Brah]]> Freeline Skates are quite the interesting hybrid. Take a skateboard, snap it in half, make the halves into skates, and you've pretty much got the idea. The skates allow you to move in a way that is a cross between skating and rollerblading. You stand on them like a skateboard, yet move your legs like you're rollerblading. You need to watch this video to do the freeline skates justice. The skates were created by a skateboarder who was bored with other forms of skating and boarding and wanted something new. Don't expect to be doing insane tricks, though. The skates go for $129 and Band-Aids aren't included.

<![CDATA[S-Board Two-Wheeled Skateboard - Don't Say We Didn't Warn You]]> You saw what happened to Wallace Packard down the street. He's paralyzed! From head to neck! Don't you correct me. He's hurt from that crazy skating you're doing. And this is even worse. Two wheels? Well, Mister, you can't even pick up your clothes off the floor and you're going to ride on two wheels? Why don't you do some homework instead of riding on two wheels. Where are you going? Come back here. We're not done talking about this, not by a long shot, Mister.
