This week's Sleepy Hollow gave us the plot no one was clamoring for: Ichabod and Katrina try to save their marriage, and get chased by an evil painting. It's more fun than it sounds! (Which isn't saying much.) Spoilers ahead...
Heading into the fall finale with "Magnum Opus," we expected some unanswered questions. We did not expect the Headless Horseman to fight a Gorgon, though given how gleefully off-the-rails this episode is, maybe we should have.
This week Sleepy Hollow takes a break from being The X-Files to hit a metaphorically-apt beat right out of Buffy: When an evil coin goes missing, Ichabod and Abbie must find it before it can unleash a wave of repressed hate.
Wait, what? With the Headless Horseman in their clutches this week, Ichabod and Abbie interrogate him as the show takes a major hard right into way more backstory than even their mythology supports, gathering subplots until mapping this episode looks like the time somebody gave LSD to a spider.
