"I can't say there was no lag—there definitely was—but it wasn't enough to ruin a game like this, of course, ANY control lag is enough to ruin a first person shooter."
My only question: Can you turn the console off and on via your computer? Us 360 users have a little overheating problem and I'd hate to have to leave it on for a week if I was on vacation and wanted to play... #spawnhd720handson
how do you control it? Did you hook up your 360 controller to your computer? Or keyboard and mouse? Or just directly to your console since you were local?
How are you supposed to control it when you are remote? #spawnhd720handson
Interesting idea... for me I don't think the single game limitation would be a huge factor. I usually play a game through to completion before I move on to the next. The laptop I carry for work isn't good for any modern games but its more than enough for 720p video so that is appealing and gaming in my hotel room each night while traveling for work is VERY appealing.
However, my hotel internet connection is 9 out of 10 times either painfully slow or painfully restricted. Unfortunately the places I would really want to use this are probably the places I can't.
@DemonOfTheFall: I ended up getting work to pay for a Sprint cell card simply because I was so sick and tired of not getting reliable internet in hotels.
Only one question... why does it take a 3rd party appliance to do this? It could be implemented entirely in software in the console, with a PC client to connect to the controller via USB.
I was watching when they were on T50 and when they started to talk about delay I lost all interest. Even on a LAN expect 85-95ms latency. If you're on the net, forgot about it...
Cool idea though, but until they get it down sub 65ms like the guy mentioned I don't see it working.
Hmmm. I assume that one COULD do this yourself by redirecting input from a video capture card to say, a NoMachine client. The catch would be transmitting commands. But for the XBox at least, it's just USB. That would be the hard part. I'd freakin' love this since I have a bunch of XBLA games, but not enough to drop $200. Unsure how one could match this on the homebrew front.
Hmm, If this is approved, with me getting my first iPhone a couple weeks ago, it might tempt me to see if I can find a cheap Sling. Having TV everywhere sounds nice to me.
It better be....AT&T needs to stop dictating what can and can't get approved to Apple. Fuck you AT&T. You shouldn't be able to stop me from using Sling through your network either....
@SamburgerHandwich: Popular theory is ATT required the Skype app to be WiFi only for fear of tying up their bandwith and not charging by the minute for it.
@Chris Stacker: Uh, the guy who was ACTUALLY THERE says they were "demo-ing video playback on a Q9 cellphone, laptop (VNC with DRM plugin), and iPhone."
I must be the only one thinking about buying a new Slingbox, then...Then again, I don't actually OWN a Slingbox yet, just an iPod Touch and a Dell laptop (which, according to Sling Media, will work just fine).
It'll give me a way to watch my DVR'd programs when I'm out traveling for my job...
Anybody else have problems with stuttering, slightly jumpy video when slinging 1080i? It's *almost* there... but not quite. Still not as good as direct HDMI connection from STB to TV.

By the time it will be up and running as intended, most game companies will have their own version, killing this company in a sec.

Finally, there should be a period at the end of the last sentence.

I know I'm not perfect either, but for someone making corrections, that was a lot of mistakes in very few characters.
